I think we can afford to go with a team which is not our strongest eleven (whatever that is ) and still beat Bordeaux. Reading on saturday is going to be tough, they are in a bad run at the moment and will be defending with their lives.
The important thing is to keep the run going though so maybe Rafa will start with his strongest side and bring two or 3 off after an hour.
My selection would be:

Reina
Finnan
Riise
Hyypia
Carragher
Pennant
Zenden
Momo
Garcia
Fowler
Bellamy

Basically, the back 4 should be our strongest because Pepe needs the protection and the confidence that will come if we get a clean sheet. Momo is in there for the same reason.
Pennant needs games and against this kind of opposition is perfect for him.
Zenden is better in the slower paced european games.
Garcia thrives in european games too and he scored on Saturday so confidence is high.
Bellamy, pacey threat on the break against a side which has to go for a win.
Fowler for his guile, his finishing and his unique way of knitting midfield and attack together

Thing is though, Zenden is better suited to the european games than the premiership in my opinion. We have to get use out of the squad and these games are perfect to use Zenden in.

Zenden isn't that bad but i think most Liverpool fans(me included) were a bit pissed of Rafa decided to get shot of Didi Hamann as he had Zenden as cover.
Bolo's got a wealth of experiecce and like you said the European games will suit him better, slower pace and what have you.

I think there's potential there and it's too early to write him off.

His performances have to improve a great deal though.

Agree about hamman, surely he was a better bet than keeping zenden? I guess it came down to the player though. Didi knows he's a good player and wasn't going to get many games if he stayed. Zendan's just delighted to be at a club he might win something at - even if that means being part of the second string.

Also I really think we should bring a centre mid in, in January. Zendens fins on the left, but he's no centre mid.

If that was the team, I'd rather see Garcia and Zenden on the flanks and Gerrard and Sissoko in the middle.
