The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

exactly - in fact as gutted as i am about torres going - i am also excited with the prospect of carroll and suarez - suarez is someone i admittley no little about but he seems to be a promising signing, and carroll is someone i have admired and felt is going to be a big prospect and his a great signing though the £35m price tag seems extreme, i much happier to have signed him for £35m, then not signed anyone or seen £40m of the torres money go to the debt and then picked up cartlon cole or elmander for £10m *shudders*

that said - it's only natural that, yeah in threas like this one, for a few days i am going to call nando a cunt...and i hope it goes tits up for him and he regrets leaving so that if i ever get the chance i can say..."you cunt, you left the greatest club in the world...haha"

Not sure I agree with the height of some of these ponies, but I agree with part of the sentiment

As soon as I heard he wanted to join Chelsea, I was pissed off but it didn't really get to me. Providing we got a big **** off wedge of cash for him I wasn't particularly bothered

He's possibly the best striker in the world when he's firing on all cylinders, so I don't really begrudge him wanting to leave to win trophies. I think Chelsea is a bad decision for him, and I think he's been somewhat forced there by a lack of alternative suitors; but my general feeling towards the entire Torresgate affair is almost complete apathy

I'm far more excited (and nervous) about seeing Carroll and Suarez

He should get ****ing ruined at Anfield though, he's gone to Chelsea FFS, surely he'd think it weird otherwise!

Ooh, I also agree about his comments, or more pertinently his lack of them. To me it almost sounds like he was briefed word for word....

roflmao - yeah - i ran straight into office, sliding on my knees, and in the press conference afterwards told everyone how great it is to finally be working for a proper company and hitting deadlines for them, not like the shower of ****e i used to work for

even though ive disliked him for a while, this probably hurts more than any transfer in my lifetime.

id love to go on sunday and abuse him for 90 minutes, my london mate is going and has no idea of the level of hatred torres is going to get.

If you compare moving jobs with a transfer between 'rivals', then you're just plain daft. Or emotionally detached. Or both.

Football is all about competition and with that comes passion and fortunately one of the last bastions of tribalism. If any one wants me to give that up and be some sort of detached cynical observer they can go swallow Shane Diesels cock.

I'd love us to give him the silent treatment but he'll get both barrels I think and you know what I think he'll be shocked by how much he'll get.

And this is why I hate Chelsea fans, no class at all, almost every single one is the ****ing same

A mate of mine posted this on Facebook!

"would like to point out to all the scousers too slow to understand, that torres left because you have been **** for ages, you are **** and you will be **** for ages more."

The best thing to say about him would be nothing; no welcome, no bitterness, just nothing.

Well said mate. FT brought some magic to a lot of peoples' 9-5 drudgery. He's ruined that now.
