It's so refreshing seeing players pass and move. Simple but effective. Really starting to enjoy watching us again. Apart from the brilliant Feb-May run in, the year we finished 2nd, this is already up there and dare I say more enjoyable than what we endured under previous managers. Players are smiling again on the pitch. It feels like years since that happened.
Anyway less on what has gone before, its history, we're on a roll. It feels like we aren't going to lose any game. Obviously we will, but you get that confidence we won't.
I really think we'll be challengers next year. No CL to get in the way. Some decent signings. The King in charge. Can't fail.

Kelly is way better at defending than he is attacking, so playing as a wing back with more emphasis on attacking is not his best position.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOnly gripe for me tonight was Kelly, who I thought was poor. Not really his fault, playing in such an alien position. Don't really want to see him in that role again.
I hope the formation was a one-off to counter the aerial threat of Stoke, because at times we looked short of numbers up front, despite being at home and playing against a mid-table team.
At least we are back to a positive goal difference in the League (until you-know-who is back in the side).

Lucas had a very good game for me also. Some of his passing was excellentOriginally posted by danperkins View PostPlayed lovely pass and move football, constantly probing and attacking. Great movement and desire, Kuyt having a man of the match performance his best of the season by a mile, Gerrard running the show, meireles been played closer to goal focusing on his best attributes & Suarez looking very sharp, prob won' tget the great but deserved it.
Delighted with the performance and the result, fantastic stuff. Well done Kenny and the boys'If Everton were playing at the bottom of the garden, I'd pull the curtains.' Shankly

I can see Kenny using different formations, players and tactics depending on the opposition.Originally posted by GorbyPeacePrize View PostKelly is way better at defending than he is attacking, so playing as a wing back with more emphasis on attacking is not his best position.

Poor? Definitely not in my opinion! No idea what game you were watching!Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI thought he looked a little lost too. I think at the moment it is the other way round imo. He has been caught out definitively often recently, tonight I thought he was sloppy on the ball though.Originally posted by GorbyPeacePrize View PostKelly is way better at defending than he is attacking, so playing as a wing back with more emphasis on attacking is not his best position.
