          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

God and McManaman were my heroes growing up. Loved watching them play.

Of the more recent crop Alonso is by far my favourite.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

Ah ****, I forgot Hansen. I always quote him as my favourite all time player.

If we're not talking Fowler, Dalglish, Souness, Gerrarrd, Carra etc then for me it has to be Hyypia

Too long ago for this generation? They are for me really.

I said Barnes before but he's apparently too obvious. In that case - Peter Beardsley.
I would of added Hansen, Keegan and Thommo to my list but I thought they were part of the usual suspects.

Keegan got me into Liverpool initially but it was the King who sealed it for me.

Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

My favourite players in order going through the years. (from past to present). If there's a gap in the timeline it's because I had no particular fave at the time.

                        John Barnes
                        Rob Jones
                        Michael Owen
                        Jamie Carragher

Now - No one. I like what Suarez has had to go through to get where he is though, so it could be him in the future.
                        Forwards.......

easily Riise. he played football fantastically. and garunteed to score a belter from 20yards plus. my all time favourite goal waas scored by Riise aswell which swings me.
                          KING KENNY.................enough said

Sami for me as well, I really hope he comes back in a coaching role one day, amazing player and an amazing fella too

Riise, Redknapp(When he wasn't injured), Steve Finnan, Alonso, Mcmanaman, Barnes, Didi are all up there for me also.

I also had massive soft sports for Torres and Macherano, Torres was the first player id really idolized since Fowler left, and tbh I just thought Macherano was great, I loved his cheek and the way he would always give 100% for the cause.
However, because of the way both of them treated the club, I don't think i can call either of them a favorite.
The times they are a changin'.

can i just remind people that it is the favourite player but not the likes of the king god sg barnes rush souness etc etc.

it seems to be going unnoticed.

It's futile to for me to try and choose a favourite player from over 30 years of watching Liverpool.

My first hero was Keegan but I've had so many other favourite players since.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Jimmy Case yet so I'll add him to the list as well.
