Who is your favouite ever Liverpool player (apart from the obvious ones)
When I was younger it was Macca, until he stitched us up.
I never thought he stitched us up. Iirc we tried to sell him first, so then he let his contract run down and went where he wanted to go when it was up. I always respected the lad for how well he did at Madrid, and he was defo one of my favourite players in the mid 90's.
Too long ago for this generation? They are for me really.
I said Barnes before but he's apparently too obvious. In that case - Peter Beardsley.
Nah, we're just supposed to be avoiding the obvious ones, which most of that lot are.
Beardsley was ace.
Most of mine have already been mentioned; such as Rob Jones, Jan Molby, Ronnie Whelan etc. I always liked Ray Houghton too.
How about Vladi? I mean he was like, pretty **** for most of his time at the club in all honesty....... but then came Istanbul
This always make me laugh - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6-ILrWyAsA"]YouTube - Vlad The Lad in Bordeaux[/ame]
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
Potentially a great trip down memory lane this until I'm overcome by the sense that my memory is ****in shot to pieces ffs
I remember thinking Jimmy Case was class. Then I loved Jan Molby and I remember thinking Steve Nicol was brilliant. Of the usuals it's Kenny, Barnes from my younger days and like so many others Xabi and Sami from recent times. All total ****in legends footballwise at least and in most cases great men as well.
If I had to pick I'd go for Nicol and Sami. Actually Aldo was a legend too.
I used to think that Ronnie Whelan was a cracking player and very under rated. Nicol from the same era was fantastic.
The first player I really loved back in the day was Heighway. I use to love his swashbuckling wing play.
From the modern era, apart from the obvious names I would say Gary Mac. I just wished we had got him earler because things could have been very different for us in the 90's with a young Mac there to set the tempo.
