19 goals in 94 appearances as a striker, and most of those in Europa/Carling. That's a shockingly bad average however one paints it. Hope he does better at his new club.

Think I’m subconsciously just distancing myself from football until I see how this match on Saturday pans out. Barca really need to come up with the goods. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

And don't worry. It will be Barca. It would be a huge upset if that doesn't happen.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I think it's a case of saying that clubs are paying for the potential, he is better than he has been showing recently, and has the potential to improve further. The £8m seems alot at the moment and I'd be suprised if we'd get it. As I've said previously I'd be tempted to loan him out for a year, if he does well on loan his value would shoot up (or at least teams would be willing to pay close to the £8m we're asking for!)The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We ****ed up with him, I think.
He should have been loaned out to a good Championship or even a bottom PL club to get more games under his belt, he's definitely good enough for that level and playing regularly would have really benefited him. Instead we kept him here because of our lack of strikers, while at the same time he was never really good enough to play much. Besides that, his opportunities came during one of the darkest times of this club, when the rest of the team was just as **** as he was, so it's hardly fair to judge him based on that period and expect him to pull out magical performances out of his arse while the rest of the team was sulking and dragging themselves around the pitch like a group of lazy cunts. I hope you understand what I'm talking about

So if it was up to me, I wouldn't give up on him yet. To me he's proved on several occasions that he's got talent, he's good at receiving long balls, holding them up and distributing around, his technique is good for his size, and he's scored against Arsenal and United, which counts for something doesn't it?
Besides that he's still young and can improve, he's modest and hardworking (it's never been a problem for him to play for reserves or sit on the bench for ages - so now think of that **** Niklas Bendtner who has a very similar record) and if we really get a squad we're all expecting next season and include him in it, I'm sure he can regain his confidence and become a useful player for us.
Mind you, if someone really offered 8m we should take it immediately
but I don't think we should accept some ridiculously low fee just to get rid of him.

To get £8m for Ngog would be absolutely brilliant. He has scored some goals for us but just doesn't look like he will ever be good enough to command a first team place. My LFC Blog - OH I AM A LIVERPUDLIAN

At the start of the season I thought he had the potential to become a Trezeguet type player. Doesn't look that way now but you never know. Change of scene, good partner, increase in confidence and he could start banging the goals in.
Personally, I'd like a size-able sell-on clause.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

That is just it. He won't be our starter ever and he wants to play first team football.Originally posted by rnevitt View PostTo get £8m for Ngog would be absolutely brilliant. He has scored some goals for us but just doesn't look like he will ever be good enough to command a first team place.
Imo if we can get a decent offer 4-5m I'd sell.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

chrono... that is the art of negotiation.Originally posted by Chrono View PostAsk for £8 you might get 5/6. Ask for 5/6 you might get 3. He's still a decent young striker in one of the best leagues in the world. The tat that gets £20m price tags put on them is ridiculous, about time we didn't just offload our players for peanuts.
Start optimistic and end up realistic. Unfortunately, under Rick Parrys guidance we started realistic and ended up a charitable institution. They should also put in a sell on fee 25% of anything over what is paid for him should end up back in our coffers.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
