Off the topic for a moment but personally for me Subotic would be my number 1 choice for CB in the summer but Kjaer would be more than decent upgrade.

I agree Skrtel needs to stay as I don't think we will be renewing Soto's contract and with Agger's injuries woes we need some with Skrtel's experience (and Carra's) that can step in easily.

The only question is do we have to sell before we buy or not. I hope not.
We were supposedly biding for Adam, Young and Richards in January if you believe the reports. So I suspect we will have some money to spend without having to spend. I at least hope this is the case
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Conor Coady, John Flanagan and Thomas Ince (son of Paul) in the #LFC squad for tomorrow's Europa League Match. Spearing back as well. Few things surprise me in football but LFC v Sparta being a sell out has stunned me. Even a 6pm kick off hasn't put people off.[Twitter]

I am sure we will have money to spend but the question is what will be our priorities.

I reckon we'll definitely be in a market for LB, DM and a winger but will we have enough funds to pursue a top notch CB I am not sure.

It's an occasion game innit? Kenny's first home European game in charge.

I wonder if the owners are coming over for it?

Although injured pair Fabio Aurelio and Andy Carroll and the ineligible Luis Suarez are sidelined this evening, Christian Poulsen and Jay Spearing are available again while Martin Skrtel, Martin Kelly and Joe Cole will come into consideration for a recall.

However, Steven Gerrard will not be risked as he continues to recover from the groin problem that has ruled him out of Liverpool’s last two games.

Gerrard trained by himself at Melwood yesterday with the skipper already a major doubt for Sunday’s Premier League visit to West Ham United.

And Dalglish said: “We can’t put any extra pressure on a player to play because it’s a European night. It will be important to have him but we are not going to be irresponsible.

“I think Steven’s in better shape now than he’s ever been, even though he’s coming back from an injury. He understands his body better now. He’s had a few injuries but they are much more manageable than they were before.”

I read it that way too it sounds as though we should be made up Poulsen and Spearing are back

I hadn't looked at it that way but now that you've both mentioned it

Kenny Dalglish has sung the praises of Joe Cole.

Cole is in line to make his first start under Dalglish in tonight's Europa League game with Sparta Prague and he will do so full of confidence after receiving the full backing of his manager.

"Joe certainly looks really sharp in training," said the King.

"He's done nothing but good over the last couple of weeks when he's been fit enough to train and he did well enough against Sparta last week.

"Joe has the ability to open up a can of beans. He's a talented footballer and we will try our best to get that out of him.

"He's positive, he's lively and he's bubbly. Steve Clarke coming in will have helped him as well because he has worked with him before. We have no problems with Joe."
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Kennys man management skills are top notch!

All I think JC needs is some real encouragement and being shown that he's believed in.

I must admit, those tins of beans have me flummoxed at times.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.
