Wilson - should never play at fullback, same issue of not getting forward, meaning we had less attacking option and all too often when he had the ball he just tried to put it in the box from deep, that is simply not good enough.

well i can't talk much about the game as I was playing 5 a side so missed the 2nd half and the first half was a bit meh....

but how can anyone not be happy with were we are right now is just baffling......Don't get me wrong - we all want to be winning the league and playing the champions league, I don't think there is one person associated with Liverpool that doesn't want to be there......thats what the hodge's problem was - he was happy with a mid table finish and some europa football.

But - we have had probably the worse couple of years i can remember - all the **** off the pitch with the owners, ****e performances on the pitch, player divisions, a dreadful dreadful manager in hodgson and possibly the worst 6 months of a season that I have ever and will ever see at Liverpool.....


And yet despite all that....Here we are, with two exciting young strikers itching to get going, and a legend as a manager that has really pulled everyone together, the players, the fans, the club........We have turned it round and look like we will comfortably finish 6th - whilst I agree, we want to be better than that.....thats a hell of turnaround and to be fair, at the start of the season I felt we were the 6th best team anyway - so to go from being one or two bad results away from being in a relegation battle, to a 6th place finish is fine by me....

And then on top of that - whilst yes it's a '2nd rate european comp' - we still have a real chance of winning the Europa which would be ****ing massive - You only have to look at the reactions off Gerrard when we scored to realise how much it means.....Similarly, I heard this morning that Fabregas is begging Wenger to play in the Carling Cup final, yes it's another 2nd rate trophy, but it's a trophy and a final and players want to play and win these things, especially when it gets to the business end of the season.

Add to it, what it would do for the club.........A few months ago I was thinking we are ****ed.....we had hodgson in charge, under him i was thinking at best we will finish 10th, get knocked out the europa, lose torres and reina in the summer and replace them with Carlton Cole and Paul Robinson and have no chance of attracting any players........But if we finish 6th and won the europa league - and with carroll and suarez here, and reina stays - what a statement to players round the world that we are back - yes we've been **** and struggled but we're turning it round, and we will challenge again - i reckon plenty of top players would sit up and notice and think "hmmm i wouldn't some of that..."


And one final thing to sum this up...............

Chelsea, Arsenal and United aside......and I include Spurs and City in this because until the last season or so they were **** all.........Every single club in the league would be ****ing estactic with a 6th place finish and winning the Europa league. - And for us....it's been a poor season

I say, no we are in no danger in the league - we won't get 4th (though we should continue to try and push for it) and we aren't going to finish as bad as would under hodgson - we should be all out for trying to win this competition - and I admit as well - when the season started I had no interest in the europa other than i thought it would be good to give game time to kelly wilson shelvey pacheco etc

Braga is def a good draw, and tbh. probably the best we could get of that bunch. It is to bad is not so well rated in the UK the tournament, because there are def. some strong teams in it.

We can get some good games out of this and some experience for some of the younger players.

Pretty strong quarter finals if the favourites get through, no one to fear playing but equally if we were without Gerrard and Carroll or just one of them any tie there would be a massive struggle. Gonna need some luck with injuries and suspensions here.

please change the overall trend of your comment to something along the lines of "kenny is as ****e as Hodgson, Reina gonna leave, carra is ****e, kuyt wouldn't get a game for any other team in england (including non-league) and the new owners are a bag-o-****e as well"

Top post PTP. Aye, the competition has been devalued, but I'd be well chuffed to win it- significantly less than the League or CL of course- but more than the FA Cup.
