Actually, I lost sight of what my initial point was which was out of the current crop of players who I think is good enough to warrant a starting place every week. I had Johnson and Meireles in the side even though they're not playing in their ideal positions.

Lets say we don't manage to find the right left-back (that sounds a bit confusing) in the summer, then I wouldn't be that bothered by Johnson starting left back (although not ideal). And Meireles starting too even with Gerrard. I think that was my point.

Gerrard has stated now several times he doesn't want to leave Anfield and see's himself finishing his career with us, that if nothing else tells us he wants to play for us, and I mean really wanting to play for us.

Last season we were ****, that was down to the board room, players and the manager getting things wrong all are to blame and then on top of this the first 6 months of the season.

We then had the Bodge where nobody did well now did they, Stevie has now moved into the CM position because he's probably been asked to play there, he's best behind the striker we know that as does he and then on top of that he's carrying an injury - rather than not standing up to be counted perhaps he told Kenny he'd play due to the serious lack of options available there, even when fully fit?

So there are two sides to look at things, you always go for the negative with him and Carra!
Stevie wanted to play for us so much that he left the club out to dry for a couple of months before this season. He didn't committed himself to the club until after the world cup and not before it.

I will NEVER believe that Gerrard is committed to the club the rest of his career whatever he say. If Real would have made a bid then he would most probably left.

He wanted to see what options he had. Real never made a bid so he ended up staying, not his first choice IMO. His first choice would have been a move to Real, again IMO.

I disagree, I think if he made noises he wanted to have left he would be playing for someone else - he didn't and he's still at Anfield.

Clearly when it comes to Gerrard and Carra your mind is made up, you esssentially look at them and have decided they pulled a Brutus and stabbed Ceasar in the back

For me it's a bit disrespectful to the best player we've had in the past 10 - 15 years.

As predicted Johnson ended up costing us the first goal. We never got into the game after that. He also left Wilson exposed who had a mare once his confidence dropped.

Kelly & Suarez are the only two to come out of it with any credit. That's slightly harsh on Lucas tho since he played cm on his own most of the game.

Let's be fair that was brilliantly worked & finished - the best goal they've scored in more than a season imo. It had everything excellent passing & interchanging plus Scott Parker's best finish of his career (although I did think it was a bit lucky). The ****en pricks would NEVER turn in a performance like that against the Scum - that is my biggest problem with yesterday...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Arn, I really think Gerrard is more committed than most of them. The difference between him and, for example, someone like Kuyt is that Gerrard has always had options whereas for Kuyt to move it would probably be a step down, in terms of money and prestige.

But since your mind is made up, there's no point discussing it further.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Nothing to do with this thread, but does anyone know the answer to this question?

Q: Aconcagua in Argentina is the highest mountain in South America standing at a staggering 6,960m tall. LFC star Maxi Rodriguez is also from Argentina, but how many Maxis would you need to reach the top?

                  a) 3,267
                  b) 3,867
                  c) 4,267

                  Comment

Find out Maxi's height and divide the height of the mountain by his height...
