Now I see what you mean. Makes sense too and I agree playing Gerrard and Meireles in the in midfield in the long term is asking for trouble in a 4-3-3. Personally, I don't think Meireles has that much in his locker when he's not scoring goals anyway.

          I was saying the same
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, the sources claim Aconcagua is 6692m but I'm 6693m and I stood next to it once and it was way shorter than me.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I don't think we played that badly, ok we weren't great but West Ham really turned in their performance of the season so far imo...
The point is that we allowed West Ham play like this. Better teams would have shut them down and got in behind their defence. We never trouble their defence so they didn't really have to worry about defending. The players were totally **** yesterday. I would like to make tiredness an excuse, but it should not be.

I thought that was your height at your prime and you'd shrunk considerably now after years of osteoperosis.
                    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

The match was 3 days ago, but I need to get several things off my chest:
                      - I’ll start off by touching on Steven Gerrard’s performance:
“OptaJoe: 20 - Steven Gerrard misplaced 20 passes v West Ham, the highest total by any LFC outfielder in a PL game this season. Turnover."
I’m not usually a man for stats, but that’s just pathetic. As was his rollicking to Martin Kelly when he dared to cut in and have a shot on goal as opposed to lay the ball off to Stevie Me, not to mention over-hitting several free-kicks and corners only to throw his hands up in the air and bizarrely blame his team-mates.
Have a look at Scott Parker’s performance Stevie, there’s a real captain.

                      - Does Raul Meireles not realise football is a contact sport or is he just a total pansy?
Bloody hell that lad is so lightweight/feared it’s untrue…3 times I counted he chickened out of challenges in the first half, the first one coming inside the first 5 mins. Scoring a few goals doesn’t mean **** if you can’t do the basics. Still has a lot to prove imo. Very poor.

                      - Soft centre – not one midfielder that can put the boot in and win the ball - it actually comes naturally to Gerrard but he seems reluctant to get his shorts dirty nowadays, Lucas tries to but that’s not really his game, Meireles… well I’ll say nothing and as for Poulsen…he’s just not up to anything really. Spearing might well have to be called upon.

                      - Pepe Reina – something not right with him. Looks like he wants to sulk his way to the summer and then **** us off. Am I bothered? Not particularly.

                      - Skrtel and Carra were ran ragged. Skrtel confuses the **** out of me, here we have a 6ft 4 beast of a man who has marked the likes of Drogba and Ibrahimovic out of matches yet gets turned over by bog standard players as we saw on Sunday when Carlton Cole powered past him.

                      - As for Carra, the man’s a legend and still a great player but when he’s dragged out of the middle he gets badly exposed…nothing new there. Our midfield didn’t give them any protection whatsoever and obv that didn’t do them any favours. You lose the midfield battle, you lose the game…simple as.

                      - Formation/Personnel : all over the shop, as Shaggy rightly said a few weeks ago…too many square pegs in round holes….Kelly at right wing back, Wilson at left back, Johnson at left wing back...messy, messy, messy!!

                      - Suarez and Joe Cole were lively I thought and that was positive.

                      - Fair play to West Ham, they were organised and fully committed – thoroughly deserved the 3 points.

                      That is all.
