It was a bad challenge, but you see much worse most weeks. If FA took action over incidents like that, football would no longer be football.
No, not mistimed tackles. Reckless ones, the guy will be out injured for a couple of weeks while it heals up, and the player making the tackle gets a yellow. Mistimed tackles are a part of the game. But that wasnt mistimed, it was stupid and reckless.
    *Except Michael, who died.

He actually cried so much, all the liquid in his body evaporated and he died of dehydration, true story!

Carra's tackle was absolutely atrocious, and it was so needless! Very strange one. It should have been a red card. No question. Needs a serious, serious talking to about that. He could really have cost us.

Nani crying his eyes out - that was pretty surreal!

Suarez - just, wow. Amazing performance. He really does look like he has it all. Two footed, skillful, works extremely hard, great touch, tenacious, takes a good free kick... our most exciting signing since Torres. Him and Carroll could potentially form a devestating partnership. I think N'Gog's days are numbered to be honest.

Fair play to Kuyt. He was fantastic. He still frustrates the hell out of me when we're playing the 'lesser' teams, but when big games come around, he always seems to play well.

Lucas was superb as well today. Reminded me a bit of Hamann actually. Practically flawless performance.

I'd like to see Dalglish offered a long term contract sooner rather than later. Let's not take the man for granted. He's doing a fantastic job. We need stability. Let's start with the managers position.

He's the biggest diving-drama-queen-baby-crying prick but he still doesn't deserve that type of injury.

seeing it again a couple of times, was a bad challenge but he stayed on, good on him for going to say sorry to Nani, certainly wasn't with intent

I think watching the Rafael one though, he meant to do damage

I hadn't noticed that before you said it, but it was Hamann-esque at times. Good spot.

He is a horrible cheating cunt alright but still can't condone that tackle.

I hate to say it, but this is the sort of thing that the FA needs retrospective banning powers for.
Yes it was a bad tackle and deserved a red card. But when you say this is what the FA need retrospective action for what do you mean? because Nani was injured? IMO you can't judge how bad a challenge something is by the damage that is done. Look at the Fabio challenge that could potentially have been more damaging than Carragher's challenge, but our player got out of the way. Should retrospective action be taken on that as well or not because no one was injured?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

What a nasty gash, the cut looks pretty bad too.

Lot of this happens in the heat of the game . Wont be taken out and evens out over the course of a season - we have had lads crocked and will again .

Carra was booked so it's impossible for any further action to be taken isn't it?

There should be retrospective action because the referee got it wrong. It has nothing to do with injury. It should have been a red card, but it was a yellow - the ref got it wrong. Simple as that.

10 points out of 15 against the "top 3" . One of our better hauls in recent years?
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

That cut does look bad, wasn't there something a while ago about people questioning these 'blade' type studs saying they make cause more damage than the traditional round studs. Perhaps this is an example of this??
