His problem is that he's not a sitting midfielder and he's playing in that position. We don't have a sitting midfielder bar Lucas.

I'm inclined to agree but his ability elsewhere is questionable.

In the cup final he constantly adopted the same positions as Gerrard to receive the ball from defence which cut one player out of our passing options and one from those usefully able to respond if we lost the ball. If he wants to make a career as a midfield oddjob man then he needs to develop some level of tactical awareness, a concept that at this stage seems utterly foreign to him.
