Im split tbh. Id prefer Europa than no Europe but I also dont want us to **** up our league hopes as well though.
    **** it, whatever happens happens.
It's a fair point with the CL, but i think cos it's the CL, you kinda have more enthusiasm for it, which builds more momentum and as such, the fatigue is somewhat balanced out by adrenalin. You dont get that with the Europa

I dont NOT want to be in it, but i dont want to be wasting our first teamers on the Europa and then be ****ed for the weekend.

If we sign a good few players in the summer and have a very strong squad, we could be equipped to field a 'reserve' side for the Europa games and still progress, which would do nicely.

Might have asked this before, but what happens if City win the Cup and also finish 4th?

spot on Craig and i agree with CL point as well.
Would rather have CL and i reckon we would not only have that place sown up by now but poss PL as well if Kenny had of been in charge from the start but thats a whole new discussion.

Stoke will certainly bring a bit of class to the Europa league

They will do. I follow Slash on twitter and he's being twittering about Stoke in the final at wembley and that unfortunatly he cant make it there but has made a point of playing there in early July. Plus the fact theres a statue of both him and Lemmy going up there apparantly so good luck to stoke.

The fact that it does happen doesn't mean that it happens all or even most of the time. It may be that playing regular football (and winning) does players good as often as it causes problems. It seems to me that people usually accept this 'double edged' sword when it comes to teams lower in the table and the cup.

I suspect that in order to see no effects we would need some added depth in the squad. Players like Jovanovic and Poulsen really haven't been viable options and swapping them for players who might actually play would make a big difference. As might the development of a few more young players.

My feeling is that Europa league would be good. We should treat it similarly to Hodgson - i.e. play less experienced/more experimental teams at least in the early stages. The (important) difference being that Kenny has shown he is willing to trust young players so their would be less of a down with the dead men, reserve team feel to proceedings.

Chance would be a fine thing... !

By that reasoning I'd rather have our fringe players knackered on a sunday than our 1st teamers. If we were in the CL then the push for the league would suffer just as much after wednesday night games. At least while we're only in the EL we're bringing in a little bit of Euro revenues, keeping some of the foreign contingent happy and blooding the younger guys.

Sunderland away tends to debunk that theory as does the victory at home to Chelsea earlier in the season

Perhaps you should check the weather forecast before pissing in the wind

Chelsea at home was after a group game, no? Not really the same. And plus we enjoyed the one game this year where torres was up for it.

Like many theories though, of course there are exceptions to the rule, my point is meant more generally than in an 'every single time' manner.

And Sunderland away was great, but they were in the midst of a woeful run and we were trying to bounce back after going out to Braga. Plus, we had Suarez fresh because he hadnt been playing in the Europa games - and he was instrumental in our win at Sunderland. Kinda the point i was making really, key players not playing in europa helps our cause for the league games.

Perhaps you should wind your neck in a bit before piling in with a daft insult just because someone happens to disagree, eh?

Cup runners up get the UEFA spot.

FLMAO @ you telling people to "wind their neck in"

Seriously have a word with yourself

The above is just a list of excuses for someone picking apart your theory

Suarez was fresh for the West Ham game

Just look at the fixtures and note the Europa games and the subsequent results in the league the results are all over the shop and the only way you could find some correlation with what you claim would be if you applied Chaos Theory
