He is a good option to have. KK should do what Fergie did with players like Scholes and Giggs. Play the player maybe in two games out of three and place him on the bench in the third one. He shouldn't walk straight back into the starting XI just because he is Gerrard. He must earn his place in the team like all the other players.

It isn't Gerrard's fault that his body can't cope playing every game. Happens to everyone.

He was a key player but he is now a squad player.
      Come on Arn

Comparison with Scholes and Giggs are silly to say at least. They are at end of their careers 36 and 37 years old vs. Stevie that has at least 2,3 good years left and is only 30 atm.

Agree with most of that - it's time to stop the Stevie G obsession folks, it really is...he's just not playing well and hasn't been for a long period of time.
That's not having a go, that's not having an agenda against him, it's as Rafa would say...Fact.

You can single out certain games like Napoli(in Europa) when he scored a hat-trick but by and large Gerrard hasn't delivered the way he has in the past hence one has to question what the future holds for him at Liverpool next season and the seasons after that.

As for the Scholes and Giggs comparison, it's a valid one imo. They've been rotated and used superbly by Fergie(tbf to the cunt) since they hit their 30s and it hasn't stopped United winning trophies.
Not saying we'll suddenly start winning leagues etc if Gerrard was to be played less because it'll take much, much more than that but it shows that the top Clubs can do without players that have served them well for many years.

        Nothing lasts forever.

What makes you so confident that Gerrard has at least 2 or 3 years left as a first team player?

Scholes and Giggs have been rotated for years by Fergie, it's nothing that has just recently happened.

Btw at 30/31 a player should still be in his prime imo but it very much depends on the individual.
Gerrard's performances in the last few years are leading me to think he's one of them players that has had his day and he'll never perform as consistently well as he has done.

He hasn't but he's still the best midfielder at the club by a long shot. Best centre midfielder, attacking midfielder, right midfielder and hell even probably right back.

Both Scholes and Giggs get less injuries now because they play less. If we continue to play Gerrard in every game when he almost fit or fit then he will most probably be finished in a couple of years. Rest him in some games and he will be able to continue to play for another two three years.

Rest him in 25%-50% of the games and we will get a fitter and better Gerrard when he play. Play him in every game when it is possible and you will get a player that end up injured very often.

The best for Gerrard himself would be if we rotated him. It is sad to see a great player not being able to give 100% in the games because he play to much.

What do you want. A player that can give 75% in the games and sometime make an excellent game or a player that will be able to give 100% in almost every game?

Lucas has been much better than Gerrard this season, arguably last as well.

Get 2-3 quality midfielders in and we'll see who's the best midfielder at the Club then.

What a load of ****. He isn't 27 or 28 anymore. He is player that get injured very often because we play him to much.

He isn't as good as he has been because of injuries and that he isn't at his peak anymore. He is player that is on the way down.

Some people are so far up Gerrard's arse that they will never find a way out.

He isn't superman. He is a human being. Some people still haven't realized that.

You'd rather play Spearing or Poulsen then.

What a crock of ****. Any manager that treats Gerrard as a squad player this season or next is a ****ing idiot. Feel free to bump this in a years time, I can safely say I will not have disrespected the King.

Not in the slightest. I'm of the opinion there's more to Liverpool FC than Gerrard....when we were going through a rough patch(which just lasted bout 18 months ) then i could understand the obsession with Gerrard as we were just lucky to have a player like him at the Club. We were going nowhere.

Now though it's very much a new era - new owners, new management team and hopefully plenty of cash to spend in the summer which means we can look at bringing players in that will perform week in and week out, like Gerrard used to.

You'd think Arn and myself are calling for Gerrard to be sold to United for free

All's were saying is it's time to look at the bigger picture so to speak.

Because he is still one of the best in the world in what he does and there is really no reason to think that he will not be able to do so going forward. Take Scholes and Giggs for exaimple. At his age they both were regular at ManU and both average about 45+ (includin 30-33 PL starts) so why would we expect anything different from Stevie?

I don't disagree that over time his importance will diminish but atm he is one we cannot do without whether you want to admit it or not.

The problem is that you compare Giggs and Scholes with Gerrard now even though they are quite age apart.

6,7,8 years ago both Scholes and Giggs were starters that played constantly and in all competitions for ManU and obviously over time they had to be rotated.

Stevie is only 30 and still at prime and there is no reason not to use him regularly if he is available.
