hmmmm not sure mate, reading Arn;s posts last few days and how he stuck by Lucas and has been proved right.....shows he is a true visionary ( well 50% of one after InsuaOriginally posted by Craig_H View PostGerrard is clearly a key player still and when he's fit, Kenny picks him. Call me silly maybe, but i'll go with Kenny's judgement, over Arn's.

I agree that his role won't be as advanced as it was when he was linking up with Torres, but in all honestly I don't want Gerrard playing in the centre of midfield, his first instinct is to go forward and he often leaves gaps in behind, which makes it difficult for his partner to be effective. IMO Lucas' best form has come with Spearing along side him, and personally I like that model. They both work hard and protect the back four, fill in the gaps when the fullbacks get forward and for the first time in years we have multiple attacking players who can cause problems for defences to get us the goals to win games.Originally posted by Molby View PostIn my opinion, we will see less of Stevie playing an advanced role in the next few seasons, i think he'll revert back to being a defensive midfielder in front of the back 4.
But, in true Stevie style, he'll revel in that role.
Age catches up with everybody - including our esteemed captain.
For Arn to suggest Stevie is not a team player is a complete fallacy - this is the same man who ended up playing RB in the Champions League Final in Istanbul, the same man who scored in the FA Cup Final just as his wife was in hospital giving birth to one of his daughters, the same man who dedicates every minute he spends on the pitch to his cousin who was one of the 96 tragically killed in Hillsborough?
And Arn has the audacity and the cheek to compare him to that wee ginger tramp Scholes?
Steven Gerrard has rightly cemented himself in the folklore of our great institution. If you asked any person who has any affection or link to Liverpool FC, who their Top 5 players of all time are, Steven George Gerrard would be in 95% of the answers.
Arn should be ashamed to call himelf a Liverpool supporter. ( If indeed, he is one at all)
IMO the best thing to do with Gerrard (from a team perspective) would be to play him in one of the wide areas - in a similar role to the one Meireles currently plays (out on one side of the pitch but tucking in) with a proper wide player on the opposite side.
Gerrard has played a role wide right before, and it should keep his strong attacking game, providing him opportunities to get in the box and score goals, and provide him with more defensive responsibilities, but still keep the solid core like the one we have at the moment.Last edited by Exiled_red; 02-05-11, 11:13 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Stevie's gonna be a Dad again
STEVEN and Alex Gerrard are expecting their third child.
The Liverpool FC star and his wife, who married in 2007, already have two daughters together, Lilly-Ella and Lexi.
The news was confirmed by Alex, 28, in a national magazine.
She said: “It wasn't planned at all, but me and Steven are over the moon.”
Alex, who is now more than three months pregnant, confessed the news had brought her and Liverpool footballer Steven “closer”.
Speaking to OK! magazine she said: "It’s great because he’s had loads of time off and we’re both really happy.
“He’s being so nice. Despite what Arn and Rudo say he's really nice. He took me away to Dubai and got me a very nice present. He's very caring and is looking after me."
Discussing how Lilly-Ella, 7, and Lexi, 5, had reacted to the news, she said: "They’re both really excited. They haven't stopped talking about it. They keep saying to me ‘mum, is it still in there?”Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

As you said, I doubt Gerrard would do that. If he would put us first then he would quit the national team. The only reason that I can see why he want to continue playing for them is to improve his CV. He isn't an idiot so he know that if he play for the national team then it will hurt out chances to win.
Sometimes you must make a decision. Sure he love playing for England but we can't afford him to do that. It is time he puts us first and the national team second.
And i left RAWK to come here

how do you know he isn't a key player anymore...have you seen what happens next season? no you haven't, you have a clear agenda against Gerrard and that is you don't like him.....and you would rather the club sold him.......which would make you a very happy person
