Agger is in the same situation. He isn't as old as Gerrard but playing for the national team affects how much he can play for us. When Agger gets fit and stay fit for several months then he can play for the national team again IMO, not before then.

That puts the national team before the club that pay your wages and that shouldn't happen.
No its not, its somewhat selfish of us to demand he doesn't play for England. He is doing what he wants with his career. Who are we to say if he cant represent his country. Huge chunks of the population love watching him for England, and I must admit I get a sense of pride when I see him out there bossing it.
I do hate seeing him out there for nothing games though, august would be a prime example.

There's an england friendly in august.

I'm sure he'll pack it in as regards England in the near future ....
        Are we winning?

Especially now Joey Barton deserves to be in ahead of him.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

              Dear Arn.

He has gone, sad though it is for you, Rafa and Liverpool have evolved. Time to let go, however painful.

If you love someone, let them go, if they love you, they will come back.

With few games left and likelihood that we'll stay 6th it's not the end of the world.

Hopefully he'll rest, recover and be fresh just in time for the next season.

That said we really need to make sure that we have a proper cover for him as his injuries woes (groin re-occurring problems etc.) could continue next year again.

I can't see Gerrard quitting international football while he's a regular. He recent interview and views on England suggest that he will carry on playing for them as long as possible.

Is this selfish? As much as I hate international football, I can understnd why a player wants to play for his country. Gerrard has had only limited success at club level, if he believes that he can have success at international level I believe he will carry on playing as long as possible.

It's frustrating for us as Liverpool fans to see Gerrard miss games, we perceive him to miss alot of games because he is so important to us, but before this season he hasn't played less than 43 games a season for 10 years, in that time he has played in 86% of our league games. He obviously still believes he can cope with playing in both.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The biggest issue is that we are relying far too much on Gerrard and worrying we'll be exposed with him out of the side..

Great player etc but I think this could be the start of more injuries to come..
He's not getting any younger and I think we need to be looking very closely for his replacement..

been saying the same all season, but got **** thrown back at me - 'oh oh you hate Gerrard, stop with your anti-Gerrard agenda'

Need to find a midfield powerhouse from somewhere in the summer, i want Adam signed but i still think we'll need another one after that.

You get **** thrown back at you because of crap like this :

A tedious, pointless dig, one of hundreds, probably thousands from you.

And every match thread is filled with 10s and 10s of posts slagging him off and "Mehreles".

Yeah, clearly no agenda at all is there?

Have you ever wondered why you get so much grief, do you not think you might actually be doing something wrong to annoy so many people?
