Solid as **** performance. Good to see he looks for the right pass, even under pressure.

He is fearless. Incredibly calm and composed when under the pressure and very rarely picks the wrong pass.

Not afraid of contact whatsoever but some of his tackling is bordeline yellow. Like his passion very much but that may come at price atm.

Hopefully that part of his game will improve with time and more experience.

I'm still trying to work out how he isn't good enough for England U21's.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

              nice one Mostar.

the interception at 1;27 almost certainly prevented us conceding a goal. go ed, Flanno
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Flanno looks like he has viciously assaulted RVP in that top photo

That's probably because he doesn't stand out in a flashy way. It takes a good manager and youth coach to recognize and tease out his ability. Thank god we have both in Godgers.

Great vid (per usual), Mostar. His reading of the game is getting better and better all the time. Besides working his socks off and training hard, he has plenty of tactical intelligence to boot. That is, he's eminently coachable.

He has high football IQ and knows when he needs to stop the player any way he knows how and when to try to challenge him and see what happens.

I am very impressed with how quickly he learns and adjusts to any given situation.

Early in the 2nd half Januzaj past by him like he wasn't there and next time Januzaj tried to do the same and use his speed, Flanno just cut inside his lane and slowed him down just enough for Stevie to take the ball away.

As it stands I cannot see him not starting this year regardless if Enrique comes back from injury or not.

He earned his spot and deserves all the credit he can get.

                          Great video there Mostar.

It highlights what a brilliant job Brendan is doing. He has taken players and put together a system which accentuates their strengths and hides their weaknesses.

As impressive as Flanagan is, he is not an elite fullback talent like Shaw or Cole ten years ago. What Brendan has achieved here is create a system where the sum is greater than the individual parts - highest level of coaching this.

Look at the number of times Allen rushes out to help Flanagan - tactically brilliant stuff. Everyone plays for each other, works hard, help each other with one common purpose.

I am willing to bet that if Flanagan goes to the world cup he wont look as impressive as he has been under Brendan's system playing for the Bodge.

Not one of our players will. It's not just Hodgson to be fair - even a genius like John Barnes looked average in an England shirt.

                              Good post though.

MISSING: Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Adnan Januzaj. Last seen in Jon Flanagan's back pocket on Sunday.
