Suarez is always great in the great games. He love the extra pressure.

Many players are great when they aren't under pressure but it is when they must perform that you discover if he is very good player or an excellent one.
we'd be best off under-playing our credientials at the moment and quietly get about our business.

If you talk about being in the mix this season for the title you're asking to be scrutinised and this will heap pressure on the squad - rather Luis saying these sorts of things then going out and winning us games as it's whats happening on the pitch that matters most.

By not going on about being challengers allows us to concentrate on that.

Some valid points but if we talk about being title contenders then it shows what we really want to do, win the title. If we are happy with a top four place then the players may not perform in some games that they think isn't a must win game.

Every game is a must win game, every one. That is what the players must learn. When they play for Liverpool FC then every game is a must win game.

They must also cope with that pressure. Even if we crumble we should continue to talk about winning the title. We must learn playing with that extra pressure.

The first game against Sunderland was a must win game.

The real difference between us and Man U is that they are used playing with that pressure. That is what make great teams. They enjoy being talked about as the team to beat. They grow and get more easy points because of it.

If we talked about winning the title and would be right up there in the mix then we would get more easy points. More teams would back off and let us dominate games. Man U got many easy points the last 15 years or so because who they are. Clubs are frightened to play them and back off instead of having a go at them.

Only then can we start to win titles.
I don't think that's a good analogy; tennis matches are knock-out affairs (except Davis Cup obviously) while winning the League is based on accumulating points over the course of a season. Theoretically, knock-out matches should be more fraught due to the sudden-death nature, while a league campaign should allow for a freer, less pressurized state of mind because:

          a. regularly playing weaker opponents
          b. the prospect of being able to make up for previous mistakes - i.e. losses.

It's not as if we've been fantastic in all games except 'title deciders', or we sweep away inferior opponents and then fold when against the top teams.

Stonewall everything, be the grey man, humble and uncontroversial. Do the talking on the pitch, not in interviews or press conferences.

People can talk that we don't have the right mentality perhaps that is true but I think we all need to face the facts here.

We may be able to perform in big games and beat the opposition but as team we lack the mental strength to tough it out over the course of a season.

It will take us years before we can expect to seriously challenge for the title. We nearly did it under Rafa but again the team did not have the belief or confidence in them to believe they are winners which is why we failed when we needed to step up to the plate.

I'm not having a pop at you here Arn btw, your attitude to want to win is spot on but our players maybe bar a few don't have that mental belief in them.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

That's true but it can change quickly - and the same works with fans.

For years, prior to the 2007-2009 period, i never felt we had a cat in hell's chance of winning the title. Not a prayer.

But then, in the season we finished 2nd, we grew ourselves into the kind of side which just ground out win after win after win, regardless of performance - the kind of consistency that the mancs have displayed. It got to the point where, from never ever believing we could win it, and not daring to even give it genuine hope, i actually started to really believe it. I remember after the game away at Fulham, when Yossi scored a winner in the last minute - and that was the time where i actually truly thought we would win the title. Not just 'we could' but 'we will'.

So i think, if the team develops fairly quickly and reaches the kind of consistency that team did, then the players (like the fans) can begin to genuinely believe it too.

Aye Craig, I went mental on some poor kid in the pub when we scored that, really thought that was it. Still angry about Scum's annual bull**** vs Spuds that handed them 3 points for no reason& Stevie's disallowed goal vs Stoke.
                      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I remember a good few hundred or so of us stayed in the ground for around half an hour after the final whistle, singing "And now you're gonna believe us..." En-masse, we truly believed. Having seen the mancs spawn late goals when the points had looked lost, it was our turn and Yossi's goal convinced us that fate was finally on our side for a change.

                        Wasnt to be though

I was in the Fulham end right by the goal and we were pretty quiet all game. When Yossi scored we looked at each other and thought '**** it' there's only a few minutes left and if we get booted out so be it. We went mental but seeing that there were more Reds in that section than Fulham fans we weren't set upon

I had to have therapy to get me over hearing that poxy 'country road' song repeated over the whole 90 minutes though

One of the best chants at the moment is to the tune of "Amora"

"When the ball hits your head, and your seat is in row Z, that's Zamora"
