Thanjk you.

He won Copa America with Uruguay and was The Best Player of the Tournament (ahead of Messi for that matter) and that should have been taken into consideration.
Yeah I was talking in the context of club football (see my earlier post). I'm not really sure why any one feels that any set of criteria here are necessarily the correct ones - it's a very subjective judgement being made.

Was just in an argument with a Spurs fan earlier today about who was better Cavani or Suarez. He was saying Cavani was world class and Suarez had a long way to go before he got that level. Needless to say, his opinions on football are from now on going in one ear and out the other.
I dont know much about that much about Cavani. Is he the one that plays for Napoli? You cant deny his goal scoring record, Wikipedia says its 1 in 2 pretty much.
I agree that Cavani is amazing and maybe even world class, at least soon to be. Suarez is better though, what he has done in the world cup and the Copa America. Cavani's goal record is 106 in 212 overall and Suarez's is 149 in 262 overall and 52 assists according to wikipedia. (Doesn't say Cavani's assist record).

Suarez is world class already.
Cavani is not a world class as he hasn't shown that on the world scene (very quit during Copa America and WC) just yet and he needs to play in the better league and the team competing for top honours all the time where pressure to succeed and make an impact is tremendous.
Goal scoring record can help his reputation but not turn him into a world beater especially when he is presently playing in arguably 4th league in football.
Not there yet for me and needs to make a step into La Liga and/or PL and take that league by storm before he can be considered as world class.
I think Suarez has shown for Uruguay he is truly world class. He has only shown us flashes of what he is capable of, and I put that down to the generally average players (Stevie apart) he is surrounded by in this current team.

I like Suarez but for me his final ball / decision making puts him in that bracket just below world class imo.
He is one of top 2,3 best players in PL and by many the best footballer in PL.
That on its own should be enough to classify him as a world class and that is not including his achievements playing for Uruguay this year and winning the prestigious "Best player of the Tournament" award ahead of Messi this past summer.
To me there is so much more to Suarez's game than just scoring goals and imo he's without the doubt the world class.
