No, that would just mean we made a loss on a player we massively overpaid for. That is not a sensible way to do things.

Well they invested plenty in the summer.
They haven't really, its about £40m net since they've been here, not nearly enough.

When you replace one directly for another, it has to be included. Try telling the accountants otherwise.

Are you taking the piss? Just because we used the money badly doesn't mean we haven't had any.

No, it doesn't, if you are going to use that logic we technically spent -15m on Carroll so we could make a profit on him.

£40m net is nowhere near enough to get a struggling side back fighting for the top. As an ongoing transfer kitty for a team already at the top it would be more than sufficient, but for a side that needs rebuilding, it simply isn't enough.

Bollocks quite frankly, we took plenty of points with the players we had last season. We had plenty to spend, more than Newcastle and look where they are, sorry but you are talking rubbish. We were 10 points of 4th last season, 40m is enough to bridge such a gap.

I think FSG will now be very cautious with their money and only sanction transfers below the 15m mark. As long as the players represent value for money. They and others are probably looking at Newcastle and feeling that is the sort of thing they should be aiming for. Easier said than done though obviously.

You can't just compare everyone to Newcastle, we may as well compare it to Arsenal and say we should be able to do it with a negative net spend over a 5 year period. These are one offs, the majority of teams that are successful do so with huge initial investment and a running net spend allowing the purchase of one or 2 top players a season.

Yes, did you see the start we had to last season?

We had money, we spent badly.

Any talk of selling Suarez is absurd. He's our best player, and the team needs to be built around him.

We could buy another forward for £50m and chances are he wouldnt be as effective or settle as quickly as Suarez.

I think they will be cautious

They will research the players far more than they have

Whoever the manager is will have to fully justify who he wants and possibly even the reasons why

I dont think there will be a £15 million ceiling set on transfers

It will depend on the player they are looking at
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I said this before, but I think if Rafa was here, that's exactly what we would do (as we did with Torres).

This time last year we were not struggling. We were flying. There was so much optimism in the air. We playing great attacking football for the most part.
                                Oh I don't know.
