Not for selling him. World class player and not many like him around who we could attract to the club. Sturridge has questions over fitness which at the moment is making him inconsistent

Love Suarez. But if he decides to move on some of that will go. He got himself into this mess. We've all supported him regardless. So has the club and management and his teamates.

Bearing in mind the mental torture she has put me through the last few months with her constant talking ****, I'd say yes

I swear the world is out of kilter, it just must be, people are saying the most idiotic things where Suarez is concerned, did he kill someone and i missed it!

Or are people so bitter and twisted these days, that when you give them someone to hate, and say..Hate! they just do!

              Bloody hell mate.

Somebody made a really good point on TalkSport (I know!) yesterday afternoon. They said that the financial punishment for the players should be more severe. Basically LFC are being penalised for the silly actions of Suarez, so why not increase the fines for players but reduce the length of the ban.

Sort of makes sense to me.

Trouble is, they'll say they earn so much, or that the rich clubs will make it up to the player somehow, so they'll more or less go unpunished.

Why can't the powers that be just give punishments to fit the crime ffs, Suarez = 5/6 max.

                Ben Thatcher = 20minimum.

It's just so blatantly obvious looking at the offences commited!

How much is going to hurt them financially though? How much do you fine Suarez for this?

Also isn't there something that stops clubs from fining over 2 weeks wages? Didn't City want to fine Tevez over 4 weeks but have to reduce it to 2 weeks?

The world is full of dicks mate. There is no care nor consideration for others. Someone who has no interest whatsoever in football can pipe up and say someone deserves a lifetime ban from the sport. I felt like telling her to shut the fcuk up. She has no sense of reality.

Have to listen to her garbage all day. Typical of a person who looks in a paper, looks at the headlines, believes the guff and spouts some crap

“10 games is absurd, excessive and unfair” – Reina

By This Is Anfield on April 24, 2013
Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has defended team-mate Luis Suarez and claimed the Uruguayan is treated differently by the Football Association and media in England.

Reina says that there is hypocrisy and questioned the fairness of decisions.

Speaking on Spanish radio station COPE, Reina said:

“They treat Suárez differently, because he’s Uruguayan. He knows what he did is wrong, but 10 games is absurd, excessive and unfair.”

“Those [from the FA] who are making decisions lately are using Luis [Suárez] as a scapegoat.”

“Some get 4 games for racism and others 8. Where is the fairness?”

“Whoever knows Suárez knows he’s a great team-mate. He’s aggressive on the pitch, and that sometimes plays a dirty trick on him.”

Reina was asked about the media in England:

“In England many media are very, very, very, very, and I stress it, very hypocritical.”

Asked about the difference between the Suarez incident with Ivanovic, and Jermaine Defoe’s bite on Javier Mascherano in 2006, Reina said:

“They said it was a refereed incident. Anyway, they were other times, I guess… He was an English player, I guess.”

He was then asked whether he thought it was xenophobic:

“Xenophobia in England? (thinks) There’s hypocrisy, I don’t know if xenophobia. I’m very happy here. They’ve treated me very well.”

Liverpool will decide on Thursday whether to appeal the ban, something they have been advised against doing, after they receive the written reasons from The FA.

Oh I agree that fining a footballer seems a bit daft given how much they earn, but it's quite an interesting idea.

Obviously it wouldn't solve the issue of the FA making things up as they go along. But say for example - rather than Suarez receiving a two week fine and (for arguments sake) a three month ban, give him a two week ban and a three month fine.

That two week maximum fine thing would have to be scrapped.

I dunno. Needs tweaking obviously but I don't think the idea is a particularly bad one.

Just shows you how easily people are influenced. Pick up a rag like the Daily Mail and it shapes their whole viewpoint of an issue. People are incapable of thinking for themselves. Pretty pathetic really

The fine would need to be in the quarter to half millions tbh....

bloody hell, i've just wrote that and realised that for some players it would need to be higher, like a mill or more even, some make that in a month at places like City, so is a months wages fine enough ?

If Ben Thatcher did what he did today, and was a good player also, earning 250grand a week, i think 3mill fine would be fair ? (edit, thinking about it it would need to be more)

Tbh it has to be wages based imo, a means tested punishment of a set amont of months/weks wages, and by god it has to hurt.

And yet still gets 23 goals despite average service.
