The sentence was strong, but to my mind the issue is not the severity of Suarez punishment but the weak nature of other punishments.

I think there should be 5 boxes and within each one there is a different punishment, ie 1 match ban, 3 match ban, 5 match ban, 10 match ban and a get out of jail card.

So whenever someone gets a red card or is pulled up like our luis, they get to choose a box. Thus they are choosing their own punishment.

On reflection it seems similar to what is occuring right now.

Why don't the FA draw up a simple table. 3 columns. Down the left hand side you have a list of offences. One column is for english players, the other for foreign, final one for Suarez. You then put a random number in each box. Luis' could be formula driven ie. English column x 2
