Didn't he always say he dreamed of a move to Barca? That article Shaggy posted also said he had family living just outside Barcelona whom he visits often. Obviously Barca is his first choice but if he realises that is not an option I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to join Real. I wouldn't blame him really.

I just hope if he does want to leave we get a huge fee and we get it early in the window so we've got time to "replace" him

I still maintain that if he goes in this window it will be more to do with the club wanting to take a massive fee now whilst his stock is so high rather than Luis forcing a move.

If it proves that he forces the clubs hand in a move away...well, I will honestly give up with this sport. I know I said it about Torres as well, but this really will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

I would hope we tell Madrid 60 million euros or get stuffed.

Poor old Guillem Balague has set himself up for some interesting tweets from the Liverpool area for the rest of the week after he claimed in his Spanish Diario AS column that Luis Suarez is 'determined to leave Liverpool' and there is little the club can do about it. Common sense says they could simply prevent him due to his contract having several years left but Balague insists that Liverpool have tried everything they possible can to make the Uruguayan happy on Merseyside and have failed repeatedly.

Unfortunately, according to Guillem, Suarez just wants out and wants that transfer to be this summer, he's not even prepared to go for another season under Brendan Rodgers. The big problem is that his family are not happy in Liverpool or on Merseyside, he explains that the Suarez clan spend all their time at home and rarely go out, something which pleases none of them. Balague says that this is because Liverpool is a city with little to do, little opportunity for recreational activities. That's pretty unfair.

Suarez's preferred destination is Spain, where his in-laws live to enjoy a warmer climate than the supposed ice-age enveloping Liverpool and England, but will consider other offers and also look at any bids coming in from Italy, where Juventus have been linked with almost every player on the market. Manchester City are also mentioned, which makes a mockery of the climate excuse and Bayern Munich's Bavaria isn't exactly known for being a sun-seekers paradise.

This sounds like it could be a story planted by an agent, close to Balague (yes, we mean Pep's bother), or a genuine desire to leave and the first Suarez play in a summer of trying to get out. If it's for extra money then he surely could simply have asked, and Liverpool supporters would no doubt be upset if he decided to disparage their city on his way out.

Whether it's true or not, and Balague sounds absolutely sure, there's a certain Spanish journalist in for a 'fun' few days on social networks.

Yep €60m would be my minimum price. I fear he will go too. In that case all I ask is that we don't roll over for those *******s.

Don't be so naive. I wouldn't rule out him forcing a move TBH. Why wouldn't he if he got the chance to play for Real Madrid? Who could really blame him?

So long as he doesn't do a Mascherano and leaves with some grace I will wish him all the best. We're still a bit **** and the truth is he deserves a better team than we can be at this moment in time.

All I know is if we sell Suarez for less than the price we paid for Carroll, well then everyone at the club needs sacking.

if there is a 60m euro fee agreed i principle, i hope the next communique from us begins with the words "anyone who would pay 60 million for a player would certainly pay 80..."

I've gone from not thinking Suarez would leave this summer to now feeling it is inevitable. There is no smoke without fire. Balague is good friends with Suarez's agent so you'd imagine Suarez and his agent are engineering a move. The only thing that might now be true in the article is the release clause. Surely it's higher than that, no?

Marca is Real's media arm so it's no surprise that they've started this campaign. I don't think Suarez will go and unless he puts in a transfer request and it's confirmed by the club, I won't believe anything I read.
