Yes, he's a great player. But at what stage do we say "Fine then, if you don't want to be here then we'll put you up for sale"? He's had a few interviews now where the theme has been the same so there doesn't seem to be much ambiguity. Not sure I want him here next season with his antics in the past week.

Souness is strange. After the Chelsea game he was saying that Suarez had disgraced LFC and should pretty much be sold. Now he's all for keeping him against his wishes. Really needs to make his mind up.

Been listening to a few journos. Graham Hunter who is pretty clued up on the Spanish game has said the quotes/interviews are pre-planned by Suarez and his agent. Apparently,Real wanted Cavani but were priced out. So then turned to Suarez but have told Suarez to force the move as they won't pay top price for him. Hence his interviews.

Suarez has been pretty badly advised and has acted a tool to be honest. Sometimes I even wonder if the bite was a deliberate part of the plan. Was just totally unprovoked and out of the blue when you think about it. To do it twice is very odd

Don't harbour any hopes. If he doesn't want to go, the press will harass him until he submits to their wish.

It wasn't totally unprovoked, Ivanovic stood on his foot, probably accidentally but Suárez may not have realised that, heat of the moment etc.

But yes, I don't think we can rule out the idea that the bite was preconceived.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Arn had the foresight to see that, was laughed at, and now it's completely feasible.

Nigey, do you really think it's all down to the press forcing him out? It really isn't. He's used it as an excuse.

Personally I don't think anything can be ruled out though. It's not really a normal thing for a grown person to do, let alone do it twice. It caused his exit from Ajax and it's going to be his last act (more than likely) in a Liverpool shirt too

Yes, I noticed Arn said it and thought it was possible then. I still think it's more unlikely than not.

It's a neat explanation - Suárez bites him and causes a media firestorm and then blames the media as his justification for wanting a transfer. But it

The trouble with the interpretation is not that it doesn't fit the obvious facts but that it doesn't fit less obvious ones (like the fact it happened a split second after a tussle and his foot getting trodden on). So the argument could be, like so many others, based on selective data.

And there's also the possibility of coherence bias. The trouble with neat, coherent explanations is the issue of whether reality is all that neat and coherent.

And that's not Arnish, it's Arnic. Arnish is his strange and sometimes garbled way with words. Arnic is his specific branch of logic where all data proves the predetermined hypothesis (which these days is usually about FSG).

I don't think Luis needed to 'create' the bite incident to force a move. Even if he was POTY here and there was no media issues this season he would have wanted to go to Madrid IMO (assuming they declared their interest). Fact is we finished 7th and as many others have pointed out, a move to Madrid or Barca is the dream ticket for South American players.

That's another fact that Arn's interpretation misses out.

If Suarez had come out and stated that since he's at the peak of his career and we're not in the top 4, with no guarantees that we will be next season, he was leaving, I'd say fair enough.

Even though I feel he owes us, to have the worlds biggest and most successful club in for him, from a country where his own language is the native tongue, where he has family living over there and to have possibly a once in a lifetime chance if going....... Who could blame him.

But this constant stream of bull**** about press persecution is ridiculous. The vast majority of it, he's brought on himself.

Handling on the line in the World Cup v Ghana was his choice, as was biting the PSV and Chelsea players. Diving and play acting was his choice. Winding up Evra, racial or not, was his choice.

I know there are players who cheat more (Bale). There are players who have bitten the opposition (Defoe). There are players who have been crazier (Cantona). There have been players who have cheated as much in world cups (Maradona, Rivaldo). There have even been players who have been proved to say racist words (Terry).

But Suarez has pretty much done the lot. And that's why he's hated and called a horrible scumbag. And it's all his own doing.
                              Forwards.......

I must say, I love him as a player. The will to win is the cause of it all, so I can't hate him for it since that's the reason I love him. But when it's spelled out in black and white, I must say, for the clubs image we would be better of without him.

For me, pros and cons to him staying and going. So I'll not be gutter either way.
                                Forwards.......
