To be honest I think luis has been a bit naive. If only he had just said he wanted to join Madrid and to play champions league I think the majority of fans would've said fair enough. I agree with previous posts where he's brought most of the problems on himself

Fair enough mate. I'm not that arsed that he's going either, with that kind of perspective. It's only a game, we're not going to win anything worth winning either way so **** it.

I know what you mean but I do think it matters. Football support is an emotional thing. He got a lot of support from the club and supporters when in situations where it still remains unclear whether he deserved it. The way he is leaking stuff now feels a bit disrespectful and I can see why that upsets some people.

It is, yes. It's pretty much like people writing hate mail to actors because of the actions of their characters.

It's all a game, every player does it. They all want to leave their clubs on as good terms as possible. Clearly IMO Suarez was advised that this would be better than saying he just wants to play at a higher level. I'm not interested in these games. All that matters is he's leaving and we will need to spend the money well to make sure we get better results. That's all that matters......to me at least.

It's a reasonable point of view and one I'm pretty close to. If he was a friend though I would tell him he was being a bit of a cunt.

I have an uneasy feeling though that the attitude of all this being besides the point is a/ part what is making football in general less appealing to me and b/ suggests that we should all have given less of a **** about supporting him when the press were on his case.

If he's going, so be it. Just get it done quickly and for as much as possible so that we have time to spend the money wisely and not panic like we did with the Torres money.

I don't believe that he's been advised to go down this route to be honest. His family could be unsettled as far as I know and it wouldn't be the first south american family who would be unsettled here. His reasons for protecting his family are real IMO. Imagine the frenzy (as we're all seeing now how he's getting abused ) can clearly go out of bounds. I don't know how people can discard that.

                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Because the stuff about media harassment is a bare-faced lie - he does not get papped in Woolton and around the city. He just doesn't.

If "unsettled" means he and his family would rather live in Spain, then fine. I'm unsettled too.

Not at all. I'm not blind to the fact that he might well be leaving but what I'm saying that his reasons for leaving might well be because of what he's endured here, not because he wants to play in the CL necessarily. It could be used as an excuse, of course, but we're all speculating and dismissing this and that without any factual data bar media speculation, hearsay, Twitter etc.

Tune in next time, when Luis Suarez bites Gerard Pique or someone like that.

All really comes down to him sorting himself out. I'm sure his family will be a lot happier when he does that because they won't have to put up with the constant prying etc if he just stuck to playing football and doing his thing (which he is very good at), keeping his headown

The thing about his family must be a lie, either that or its stupidity on his part to think itll be better elsewhere. Especailly Madrid. Marca seem even more 'Pap Happy' (see what I did) than most.
