... is possibly the worst. He's only been complimentary about the club and especially the fans.... well I suppose 1 out of 3 could be worse So incendiary, and such false representation of what he's said. I think he wants to (and will) go, but that sort of thing is absurd.

And I wouldn't hold it against him if he goes.
      Are we winning?

Does Maddock have a personal twitter account? I feel like my fingers need to make several slips on keys and accidentally send him some abuse. Either for his knowledge, or his gimpy appearance

It doesn't make any sense either. So if he puts in a transfer request, we'll let him talk to Madrid if they meet his release clause? We'll have to do that anyway FFS.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

@TheTotalLFC: Liverpool to make it clear to Luis Suárez that he will not be allowed to leave Anfield unless he puts in written transfer request(Telegraph)

Also if the clause exists what is the point in putting a time limit on when something must happen by? As presumably if someone triggers the clause and he wants to go to that club it doesn't matter whether it is today, next week or on the final day of the transfer window.

Football journalists really seem to be able to get away with writing any old crap.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If a player puts in a tranny request. The lose out on the "the golden handshake" of a few millions as part of unpaid wages for the duration of the the contract and possibly a % of the transfer fee. In Suarez's case I am guessing this could be several millions of £'s

Think it's either the Mirror article (which I read last night and can't be bothered to read again) or one in the Daily Mail, that he gets a % of the transfer fee as his 'loyalty' bonus.

Stands to miss out on a few million quid if he requests a transfer.

Because apparently the clause is set at something like £40m but it triggers the club actually being allowed to talk to the player and LFC considering the bid, but it doesn't mean that the bid has to be accepted at £40m by us. Hence, us allegedly putting a deadline on when a deal must be completed. Pretty sure a few of the reliable journalists like Barrett, King, Hunter said this a couple of weeks ago

Like he wouldn't save that much up in less than a year of playing for Real Madrid...

Hey Bender, can this sort of unsubstantiated stuff go into the twitter thread please?
                              *Except Michael, who died.

Probably get it in a signing-on fee I'd imagine
