The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That picture still winds me up. Him and Suarez would have been deadly together and we would be playing CL football now if he stayed.

Luis Suárez set for crunch talks with Brendan Rodgers over his Liverpool future
Luis Suárez will discuss his Liverpool future with Brendan Rodgers during the next 24 hours after reporting for pre-season training in Melbourne ahead of the club’s arrival in Australia.

Suárez, handed an extended summer break by manager Rodgers after representing Uruguay during last month’s Confederations Cup in
Brazil, arrived in the city almost 12 hours ahead of his team-mates, who flew in from Jakarta following a 2-0 victory against an Indonesia XI on Saturday.

The 26-year-old joins up with the club’s tour of Australia and the Far East after repeatedly stating his determination to leave Anfield since the end of last season, claiming to have lost patience with his treatment at the hands of the English media following a 10-match suspension for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

Despite receiving a £30 million offer from Arsenal for Suárez, however, Liverpool have insisted that they have no intention of selling the player.
Real Madrid are also monitoring Suárez’s situation at Anfield, but with Rodgers reiterating the club’s position on the forward, who signed a new contract just 12 months ago, the pair are due to meet face-to-face in Melbourne for the first time since the player went public with his desire to leave earlier this summer.

Suárez refused to discuss his future with reporters yesterday when pursued by television crews at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport following his arrival from South America.

The former Ajax striker was ushered through the arrivals hall, ignoring a question whether “Liverpool fans should still be buying your shirt?” as he was escorted to a waiting car by airport security.

With Rodgers and the rest of the Liverpool squad arriving at the team hotel shortly after 10pm, no formal meeting between Suárez and the manager is understood to have taken place yet. But discussions about the player’s intentions, and Liverpool’s position, are expected to go ahead soon.

Liverpool are due to play Melbourne Victory on Wednesday in front of a sell-out crowd of almost 100,000 at the MCG, but Suárez is unlikely to figure having yet to start pre-season training following his summer break.

Meanwhile, Rodgers has explained why he has allowed goalkeeper Pepe Reina to complete a season-long loan move to Napoli – managed by former Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez – following the £9 million signing of Simon Mignolet from Sunderland.

With Mignolet set to claim the No 1 shirt this season, Reina’s £110,000-a-week wages have been key in the club’s decision to sanction the loan deal.
“Financially it was something that we needed to look at,” Rodgers said. “That would be the reason because you wouldn’t move on a top goalkeeper.
“It the situation reared its head over the last couple of months and I had to prepare by bringing in another keeper.

“I have a lot of time for Reina and he understands what I want to do. But this is a World Cup year and if he wasn’t playing, it would severely harm his chances of going to Brazil with Spain.”

                Big week ahead.

Hopefully this will get sorted sooner rather than later.

I remember reading one of his tweets saying he cant give us a name or else it might jeopardize the deal, but he then goes out and says we will bid 41 million for Suarez  He doesn't remember what he has tweeted in the past and that's what gets him even more crap, on top of what he already gets.

Thank God i don't listen to any of these people on twitter.

Regardless of whether he knew his stuff in the past, Geoff is a supreme **** talker these days. Everything he says is either made up, blatantly obvious or robbed from a major outlet. Reminds me of Caught Offside.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Luis Suarez is in 'great spirits' after arriving in Australia and has reiterated there is nothing to consider about the striker's Liverpool future until an offer that meets the club's valuation is made.

Suarez has missed the start of Liverpool's pre-season programme after being given time off following the Confederations Cup, but the Uruguay international's future remains the subject of intense speculation.

Arsenal reportedly failed with a £30million offer for the 26-year-old, who has previously suggested he is prepared to leave Anfield this summer.

However, Rodgers is determined to keep the former Ajax forward at Liverpool and he reiterated that there is no pressure to sell Suarez.

"Yes, very much so," said Rodgers when asked if he expected Suarez to be at the club this season.
"There's been a lot of speculation over the course of the close season but the reality is that he's a player who is very much valued at Liverpool and unless there's any sort of offer that comes in that's anywhere near his value, there's nothing to consider.

                            "We haven't had that."

Asked what that value was, Rodgers replied: "I didn't say we would sell him! I said that every player has a value and a worth. Doesn't mean you've got to sell them."

Rodgers will continue to discuss the situation with Suarez, but is untroubled by the constant speculation ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Melbourne Victory.

He continued: "As we've always been as a club, I'm quite relaxed about it. He's an integral part of our squad.

"We'll chat at some stage, like I do with all the players.

"But he's back, he's in great spirits. He's obviously an integral part of the group - you could see his closeness with his team-mates last night when they were all seeing him for the first time in a number of weeks.

"He'll join training today with all the other players and over the course of the next few weeks we'll communicate.

"Him and I have been in regular communication throughout the summer."
