Moving to Arsenal makes no sense whatsoever for me. They're happy just to finish 4th every season and I can't see him winning a trophy there. Lack some serious bottle
The London issue is relevant IMO, it does have a massive draw for foreign players.

In terms of Arsenal, I totally agree but now that their stadium is paid for this could be the time they change their mentality. They are cash rich and their supporters have literally been crying out for them to spend big, so maybe this is the start of a new approach from them.

Have to wait and see. They could have signed Higuain, could have signed Jovetic and missed out on both, apparently after having agreed terms with the players. I'm not convinced by them and their so-called huge warchest this summer.

Or, perhaps more accurately, a return to the way they went about things when Wenger first took over (and they were winning things). At that point they were pretty big spenders compared to the rest of the league.

Why would he even be offered another contract at this stage? It makes no sense.

He's just signed a deal so he's tied down and if he stays he will leave next season if we don't make top 4 imo.

Signing a new deal wouldn't benefit anyone.

Depends really what clauses are put into the contract. May be mutually beneficial to have a new contract that ensures he stays next season but can move easier if we don't make the CL.

There were pretty strong rumours we'd offered him a new contract with an explicit clause pertaining to us not making the CL again next season. And another pay rise obviously.

Yeah I'm a bit iffy on the new contract stories. If we have the upper hand, he has 3 years left, so why weaken our position by offering him a new deal with loads of clauses.

But then others argue if you offer him £200k p/w with no clauses, would that just sort him out and he stays. Would it be worth it?

Meh indeed. Twitter just gives a voice to 15yr olds (or those with an IQ of 15) at times like this who aren't representative of anything. Shame media outlets give them any publicity.

If most of our pre-season hadon't been taken up with all the uncertainty around him maybe it would be a bit more obvious what the club are intending on doing with the rest of it? We have no idea right now if we have to replace our best player & main striker or not, or what funds we are playing with.

Also, Suarez or his camp have been agitating / preparing for a move it seems for much longer than the last few weeks. Potentially they had this in mind when the non-clause was put in his contract last summer, and if not certainly since the ManCity rumours etc started in Feb. And lets not forget we actually started this window with a flurry of decent activity (more so than all the other major players in the league who have hardly signed anyone), everyone was feeling really positive about our business at the start of the month. So I absolutely do not see that as a factor with Luis at all.

If we can't sell him to a foregin club for £50m+ then we should keep him. No way that we should sell him to Arsenal whatever the player want.

As already been mentioned many times, selling him to Arsenal would mean that we have more or less no chance to finish in the top four.

If we sell him to them then I would blame the club as much as I would blame Suarez.

We shouldn't not do that, that would be crazy.

Dortmund don't sell players to their biggest rivals do they? They had to sell Götze because Bayern activated the clause and in the Lewandowski case they refused to sell him to them. They said no to €20m+. He will leave on a free next season but their rather keep him and miss out on the money.

They would have accepted a move if he had moved to a foreign club but not Bayern.

Basically said its up to Arsenal to meet our valuation and we will sell. He must be ITK.
