Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Acted in the window so far? We've signed 4 players, improved the squad with pretty much a zero net spend. Arsenal have signed nobody. What's your point Arn?

On a different note, has anyone seen Mike Jefferies (the guy who made that ****e film Goal and was supposed to buy us with Robert Kraft or something). Now says Spurs may sign Suarez. The other day he was adamant it was going to be Arsenal. Last summer he was praising FSG all the way til 1 hour before the window closed and then has slated Ayre, FSG, Rodgers ever since. Arn, are you Mike Jefferies?

Mike Jeffries is an attention seeking ****.

Actually, I'll unfollow him. Meant to do that for quite a while.

You should. He just spouts negative nonsense about every aspect of the club, top to bottom and every single thing it does. Loathe to give anyone any credit whatsoever. It's pretty stupid

And it's laughable he should suggest that we'll sell to Spurs. Absolutely laughable.

He just flips from one negative outcome to another. Nevermind that Madrid probably won't sign him and Arsenal have been priced out. Most fans first reaction would be, "I can probably see him staying". His is, "I think Spurs are a real possibility for Suarez". He just comes across as hating everything about the club, and I just don't get that kind of 'support'

It is at first, but IF (and it is a very big IF) Spurs got £100m in the bank from selling Bale they may see a £50m bid for Suarez as good business. They gain a world class player plus £50m in the bank. And their fans will be happy with that and forgive Bale being sold.

Having placed a price on Luis (i.e. the Cavani price BR referred to) I think we are going to really struggle to turn down anything over £50m. Don't really think we will care who the club is if that type of offer comes in.

I'm really in two minds now whether we are willing sellers or not? Reading Rodgers' interview today I kind of get the impression that if a bid hits £55m we'll accept it, whereas a few weeks ago, we weren't going to sell at any price.

Even the articles by the respected journos in the area send out mixed signals.

For me though, I think I'd seriously consider any bid of £55m+ regardless of club, but only if we're pretty sure we can get the replacements in. Thing that swings it for me is the 6 game ban, Aspas needing time to settle, Borini not seeming ready to lead the line and Sturridge not being match fit. Just don't think we have the firepower to make the strong start that is needed

Spurs are not in the CL, so I suspect he wouldn't be interested in going there at all. Preposterous to even think about it!

You are very blinkered and naïve Nige. Anyhow, carry on.

Can't see him going to Spurs they can't offer Champions league and will have just sold their best player.

It is highly unlikely but IF they sold Bale I would not rule it out completely.

IMO the clubs stance has changed since he returned from his summer in Uruguay. Once they spoke to him, like you've said, their tone in any interviews has subtly changed.

Saying that, I can't see him ending up at Spurs. Its only Mike Jeffries saying it, so its complete bull**** anyway.

No I'm not. I just can't see the point worrying about what could happen based on unsubstantiated rumours off random chaps on Twitter. Of course, some tidbits are probably valid and help us make some kind of formulation which comes close to the actual truth, but discarding some of them does not make me naive, I don't think so.

No one is worrying, just never say never in this sport. Anything can happen, we should know that by now. Anyway, it is just a bs twitter rumour.
