the question needs to be asked how this will impact the rest of the squad

We had Gerrard come out and state Luis was the best footballer he'd ever played with. So now Luis has publically stated he wants to leave this will have a massive impact on morale irrespective of who we bring in to replace him.

              right before the season starts

If we dont get off to a good start the pressure will be on - and the papers will all say it's the cloud over our heads since suarez leaves

                What a ****er.

We're going to be well out of contention this year, actually we're going to be well out of contention for the next decade unless we get really lucky and come into money and get some players that actually have a heart and decent morals and values that want to play for this club.

                It's not going to happen.

Sorry for the negative posts everyone.
Cheer up at least you have your boners to fall back on.

I've just tried it at work. I can confirm I no longer care about Luis, but my colleagues have been giving me a few funny looks.

It might have the opposite effect though, build a siege mentality. Maybe.

its hard to take people seriously who say we arent bothered anymore because thats just naive. These sorts of underhand things go on all the time and now suarez is doing it to us people are flipping out. all clubs operate the same way, nobody wants to pay for anybody and if they could get away with paying nothing we all would.

weve put in a bid for diego costa at his release clause which atletico have rejected. so we then ask the player to put pressure on his club to go which is exactly what arsenal have asked suarez to do. But its ok for costa to pressurise atletico because it shows some desire but when suarez does it he's a cunt.

the way we got harry kewell who was then at least a 15m winger was shocking but we didnt complain because we thought we were getting a bargain. Yes it turned out badly but it might not have.

this is how football works, negotiations, tapping up players etc... and its always been there. in the past when we were successful it worked in our favour, now we're one of the lesser clubs other top teams think they can take advantage of us.

if football's corrupt and morally bankrupt thats because it always has been.

this is the game we all love.

I get the general point but there's nothing to say that we've done that in this case.

It's also hard to justify following it when it's become so corrupt. It's not even fun to talk to other fans. Most have no concept of history or the generations of fans who have come before them. I constantly have to explain why the **** I support Liverpool anyway. Very deflating. Is it all worth it? It's just a sport--one with few remaining redeeming qualities at that.

This is the reason to why I follow women football a lot.

The athletics world championships starts this week but it isn't even fun watching that because you always end up asking yourself if the winner use drugs or not.

I followed Tour de France a few years ago but all the cheating killed my interest. Did this years winner used drugs? Big risk I would say but who knows. We will probably find that out in a few years time.

i think its a given that weve been dealing with costa's agent and that suarez agent guardiola has been feeding arsenal info.

once we've met the buyout clause we cant do anymore. then its the players turn to show the desire for the move. the ball is in his court.

Fair points but his case is pretty unique in terms of the offences committed, punishments received, support given by fans, club and players then decides to go and mouth off in the press calling the manager a liar and talking about loyalty and gentleman's agreements.

I suspect many would have had no issue if he'd said, "I want to leave, i want to go and play abroad". He's changed his story and frankly his case isn't really comparable to the likes of Costa, Kewell etc. It's about loyalty and showing some respect for the backing he received.

We probably also did it when we tried to sign HM.

How many of our current players have we signed up that way? Probably most of them because just as you say, it works that way.
