                    I don't think we'll get anywhere near 4th even with him. If we did, yay go us, sorry I just can't get excited about the prospect of finishing 4th, I never will. Its ****. We get to qualify for a few games in a tournament we realistically have little chance of winning. One that seems a charade until the knockout phase. Yet I grudgingly accept the mere mention of the words....champions league.... Is effectively the holy grail these days. I just want to win the ****ing league again. Yet again I accept to get the players required you need CL. Its a vicious circle of ****ness. Why do I bother caring. Not sure I do really.

                          it's not really a vicious circle, it's a clear linear progression.

                              I agree with you about winning the league, but we aren't going to win the league in one step, we need to get better players and to do that we probably need to be in the Champions League, while I don't see 4th as an achievement in itself, it is something that is necessary to take us nearer to our goal of winning the league.

                              Realistically we don't have a chance of winning the CL but the same was said in the 2004-05 season and we all know what happened then
