It has taken a mighty effort from the club, and players, to get him to stay. I hope he can hit the ground running and help us to the CL spot we crave but if it does not go too well I would not be surprised to see another **** storm in January.
I think that's a fair summary.
All I expect from him now is to come in if selected and do his job. Could do without hearing anything from him (as impossible as it sounds), and to just pick up where he left off without any attitude.
Come January, we`ll see how the situation sits, but I'd rather wait until next summer all things considered."I will make the boys feel your support"

Hang on, if anyone defended him surely it was because we felt he deserved it, and believed his side of the story ?Originally posted by dom9 View PostThere is a difference here.
After the racism row, a lot of us in real life ended up having pretty heated debates with friends, aquintances, loved ones, randoms defending the guy in the face of spurious allegations and resulting conviction. Those were hard times. Remember the squabling on here, just within our own community?
Even with the bite, which was indefensible, we stuck by him, because he was one of us.
So for the club and the fans to have stuck by him and defended him to the hilt, for him to basically throw all that back in our collective faces all the way through the summer (until it became evident he wasn't gonna get his way) is not something I'm particularly grateful for. **** him, in that sense.
It wasn't done as a favour to be called in was it ?
He 's perfectly entitled to want to better himself regardless of anything that happend at lfc. I can't judge him any the worse for that after defending him for all the other stuff, how can anyone, just seems skewed somehow.

But you say you dislike him as a person and you don't know him as a person. You are judging him "as a person" based on what he has done on a football pitch.Originally posted by Darkon View PostWhy is it contradictory?
Of course I'm judging him as a footballer for what he does on the pitch
I know if people judged me as a person by how I acted on a football pitch, their judgement would be wildly different to what I'm really like as a person. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Yes, so for him to act like a petulant child all summer is not something that has endeared him to me any more. It's pretty bad form, all things considered.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostHang on, if anyone defended him surely it was because we felt he deserved it, and believed his side of the story ?

Fair enough. It's who he is though Dom, surely after all you'd seen you knew that before this summers window.Originally posted by dom9 View PostYes, so for him to act like a petulant child all summer is not something that has endeared him to me any more. It's pretty bad form, all things considered.
Can he change with age? Who knows.
edit: Also, there is actually a funny side to his spoilt childish persona too.

This. The will to win and the need to win. Being a bad loser, when I used to play football. I would do whatever I could to win the gameOriginally posted by Shaggy View Post

Same. I'm snarly, aggressive, get intensely annoyed with myself on those rare occasions I give the ball away or something...Originally posted by Assassin View PostThis. The will to win and the need to win. Being a bad loser, when I used to play football. I would do whatever I could to win the game
...I even started diving in my late teens. My Mum last watched me when I was about 17 and she never wanted to come again because I was so aggressive
...the polar opposite of what I'm really like. White line fever innit.
