It wouldn't be normal to go around kicking your work colleagues either, but it happens in football so the analogy doesn't work. Stuff happens in the heat of the moment in sport - from the outside it seems crazy, but we've all lost it on the sports field I'm sure. I've never bitten anyone though.

Yes. There should be a clear distinction between what happens domestically and internationally, why should an association club be affected by something that they have no control of? We were clearly doing something right, Suarez behaved himself last season. Then he goes away with his country, plays in two games and gets banned for 23 games! That we should bear the brunt of that is crazy.

I was thinking more of clubs pulling their players out of internationals because of this. Because isn't that the best way to ensure you don't attract any more decent talent? Come to Liverpool and don't play for your country.

If you take FIFA or UEFA to court you can't compete in their competitions while the case is being heard. And they are ****ing minted so will probably do all they can do drag it out just to spite you.

FIFA are based in Switzerland and a registered chairty and from what I understand looking into the FC Sion case you can't sue a charity in Switzerland. Yes but the football authorities have it all tied up in pretty little bows to protect their owns arses and gravy train.

FIFA are the global governing body. The FA is a member of Fifa, directly or indirectly. They are punishing the player first and foremost and don't care about the consequences. It's the players fault we're affected directly. Not theirs.

I think it is naive not to think other clubs will have sat up and taken notice that a player could receive a domestic ban for an on-field action in an international. Only other such incidents I can think of like that are match fixing and drug cheats

You have to wait for your case to be heard. And you would be suspended from all competitions until it is.
