Dan, article about why we should keep him - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...c-Cantona.html

Not saying I agree but it makes some good points. Not reprinting it all btw as we had a copyright complaint about Telegraph articles this week believe it or not
We've got to try and keep him, he's one of the best on the planet. Too good to give up on. I can see why the club would sell though now, it's one mental incident away from a year or life ban!

Here's where I disagree again. He's a professional footballer with contractual obligations with the club and image obligations to fulfill. Some kind of official statement from him about the club would be nice, in due time.

But yeah he's likely going from all the rumblings.

For not quoting the source or just on a power trip?

Is the team better with Suarez in it? Yes of course.

Is LFC better off with Suarez at the club? Debatable.

Is Suarez replaceable? Yes of course. We have replaced many, many fantastic players over the years. Maybe not with a direct replacement, but the team can definitely regroup.

And don't forget, if Suarez wasn't in the league last season, then we'd still have had the highest scorer.
          Oh I don't know.

I think that footballers do have an obligation to behave properly, they are a massive influence on young kids. Suarez is a complete dick, but he's such an amazing footballer.

Once he's gone we can stop reading FIFA and FA rules and legal **** and start concentrating on footy again.

You were talking about people accusing you of being the moral police for being disgusted with Suarez. I just don't see that.

I'm disgusted by the incident and have said that several times in the past few days. I'm not sure anybody would accuse me of being a moral police though.
                Oh I don't know.

I know we've tried this before with other posters without much success, but might I suggest that dan and Chris put each other on ignore?

                  Moving on....

I really can't decide what I think/want with Suarez any more. Part of me sees the appeal to cutting our losses and trying to invest the money as best as possible to try and replace him (i.e. Sanchez would be a good start).

But the other part of me knows he is one of, if not THE best player to ever play for us and I'd be gutted to not see him play for us again.

I'm glad I'm not the one to have to make the decision!

Well it was said to me in posts ya know. Once Liverpool come out of this with a shed load cash I'm happy.

I don't put anyone on ignore but won't reply to his posts. Best for all concerned.

That's why asked you to find posts. Because I've not seen it.

Maybe you could get Chris to do it for you. He seems pretty good at digging up old posts today.
                        Oh I don't know.

The club has to weigh up the risk.

Is it better to keep one of the worlds best players who scores and assists goals for fun seemingly able to win some games on his own.

                          or

Sell him now at probably his peak value knowing that if he is involved in another incident like this he could sit out a season or 2.

Ah, the world would be a better place with more silly (the funny Suarez memes) than stupid (FIFA, press overreactions)

For better or worse, yeah. As for me, I'd say Suarez is an amazing dick who's such a complete footballer.

I'm conflicted and I'm sure we have the best possible people at this club to make the right decision.

The thing is that if the club secretly wanted to move him on (for the sake of the club's image and/or to cash in on his current value) then the latest episode has made it much easier for them to do so.
