I dont believe any owner would have sat on that cash, and not expected to get stick, let alone a new one trying to make a good impression.

Actually, I think they just crapped themselves when Torres handed in his request. They felt the had to make a big splash to appease us, and ended up overpaying for Carroll, who has hardly played. We probably could have got him for £25m in the summer.

Regardless, they still have a bit to prove, and only time will tell. I think most people are optimistic that they will turn out to be ok. They havent made any promises, including not putting debt against the club. I know some debt is good, and being honest is important, but let us not forget they are here to make money above all else. I think its important the fans are there to challenge the owners, and keep them honest. I am sure they were under no illusions after seeing what heppend to G&H, in fact I bet that put a few prospective owners off. But I think that alone points toward good intentions (or crass stupidity, and they dont some across as such).
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

The big question is how they make this money. They are used to handling massive sport "franchises" (hate that word makes me think of Subway) and gleening returns on merchandise, sponsorship, tv rights etc etc on a global basis.

When we are winners on the field the infrastructure put in place will make their money by the shed load..

So the transfer budget will be substantial because that is whats needed to be winners on the field so everthing else falls into place re their profits...
