I think the fact he was thinking about us on the most important night of his life, is enough to soften even the hardest critic. Fair play to him, it was a nice gesture.

The club had a gentlemans agreement to sell him and it didn't appear they were going to honour that, hence Masch went into meltdown.

I think he could have reacted INS better way, hopefully this gesture goes some way to healing the rift he caused.

Don't think it was anything to do with that tbh.

That sending off was over 3 years ago - and he more than got his revenge against United in fixtures against them after that... beat them 4-1 at Old Trafford, and 2-1 and 2-0 at Anfield since then with Masch playing a big part in them 3 games.

I think he was genuine with the message. It was a nice touch.

I've never felt the hate for him. He was one of my favourite Liverpool players in recent years. He was a cunt, but he was our cunt

I wish him all the best, he was some player for us. Sure he could have handled the Man City thing better, but there's none of us go through life handling every situation perfectly.

Really nice touch. Big thumbs up from me.

one thing that this may show is that players see us as a stop on their career, the fact they move on doesnt mean they hate us or had no fondness for the club.

its just that most players dont feel the same way about as club as the fans do but that is understandable

To be fair to him, we had agreed the season before to let him go. So we were the ones acting badly to begin with, not that I think what he did was acceptable either.

Nice of him to say that but he is still a horrible cunt who refused to play for us to force a move and for that I will never forgive him.

Doesn't suit barca play and couldn't give a **** bout him anymore.

so is the club a cunt for going back on its word with him?

Poster on YNWA stating that the 'refused to play for us' thing was bollocks.

The righteousness of some amuses me. Perhaps the Rev bit indicates a reason for such righteousness but then shouldn't use such profanities.

Good stuff. I dont blame him for leaving, he didn't do a Torres at the end of the day and at least he understands the decision he has made and to come out and say what he did is very thoughtful IMO.

Good on him, he played awesome for us a shame it came to what it did.

If a poster on YNWA says Mascherano didn't refuse to play, then it just has to be true.
