****ing hell. We used to pay £6.8m for average English players at **** clubs and we thought that was a lot. And now we've paid £35m and £20m for two players. The mind boggles. I'm sure the release clause for Javi Martinez is 25m euro's - why the eff didn't we move for him?

Scum were paying 30mill for Ferdinand how many years ago ?

It's hard to know how much a player is really worth, if we get 10yrs service it'll have been a bargain.

Also, if Suso is as good as we all hope...he'll play when he's ready. imo.

I am getting excited about seeing Liverpool play next season. Somehow I keep getting that feeling that we could perform better with a midfield of

Henderson - Lucas - Spearing - Meireles

Then including Gerrard in it. This players can all keep the game ticking and pass the ball around quickly. Gerrard doesn't trust the others enough and is sometimes too impatient to build a long attack IMO. But if someone can make Gerrard play short passes and patient bild up it's Keny I suppose.

I guess you could swap Meireles for Maxi and put Meireles in the middle. But the point is I feel that we have several midfielders who are more comfortable with pass and move than Gerrard.

I like him. Has potential to be a very good player.

Imo we overpaid but I suppose him being English that goes hand in hand.
