He's got to be worth more to us staying at the club than 6 million euros! Surely!

Take Suarez out of the side and we look woeful short of ideas. Hopefully this will change as the side gels, but Aquilani has a bit of spark about him... I hope this falls through.

We just look like complete suckers in the transfer market at the moment.

Oh, I have many! It's more idle pub conversation though.

I'd prefer to keep him but if he doesnt want to be here and Italian clubs are all spending there money elsewhere then what else is there to do.

I dont think we look like suckers in the market either, we've got some brilliant bargains and overpaid for some others, like every club does really.

It's not the most original username and it's certainly no 'Les Dennis'.

Check the LFC Twitter thread, can't remember who actually tweeted it.

A *free* loan is the bit that worries me, but if they're paying his wages, fair enough.

I do wonder if this time next year we'll be in exactly the same position, with Aqualani playing under the threshold to force through the transfer and Milan refusing to pay €6m.

Ok, fair enough, we've been a bit up and down on fees - Enrique probably brings things to a reasonable balance. But ****ing hell... a loan with an option for 6 million euros.

I don't really care that he wants to go. For that money I just don't think we should be letting him leave. Play him and give him the chance to move in January if a club comes in with a reasonable bid.

I just have an awful feeling that he's going to go to Milan and be great. And we're going to be on the boards bemoning our lack of creativity. I'd rather we just let him leave on a loan. The 6 million euros bit makes no sense. They hold all the aces.

If this carries on, he'll run down his contract via loan deals and then walk for free.

He's worth more to us staying then sending him on a loan or even selling him at that evaluation.

Even if he stays and doesn't play a minute for us I don't think his value will be much lower next year of what Milan is supposedly willing to pay now.

Neh, He's one of few players that have creativity in abundance and we should keep him if they are unwilling to pay what's his real value is.

Is the value of something defined by the buyer or the seller? Can someone tell me.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Yep, we'll be in the ridiculous position of having 'owned' him for 3 years and loaned him out - while paying a proportion of his wages - for 2. Makes no sense to me whatsoever.

It's normally the buyer, but I think that this instance proves that there are exceptions to the rule

He wasnt at Juve and he's one of the few players they had on loan but didnt want permanently and contrary to opinion that he was "amazing" out there their fans had been hammering him since November. I think he's become hugely overrated because of a few friendlies, as soon as we stepped up in class v Valencia he went completely awol.

I think the fact no one will buy him says more about him than us.

I do actually like him and would rather he stayed, think he suits English football better than Italian but im not that arsed if he goes.

All fair points. I wish I was as blase' about his future. I just look at him as a player and see exactly what we've missed at time this season (including friendlies admittedly).

Speaking of those friendlies, there were other senior players playing in those games as well who didn't perform when he did. He didn't have a good game against Valencia, but to me that's the exception rather than the rule whenever I've watching him play for us post christmas a couple of years ago.

Looks like he's going anyway. Sad about it, mate
