I thought this went rather well tbh, we still have lots of new signings to blend and I thought they didn't really threaten the whole match bar the RVP shot. We were solid and with more matches I think our passing will be crispers and more incisive. Our defence is very solid and Enrique is a top player. We still have Gerrard and Johnson to come back and Suarez only played 20 mins.

Enrique is unbelievable. Suarez should've played entire game as even at 50% he's our only goal threat.

Good game by Lucas, Downing, Kelly and Agger.

We play better without Carroll in the team. I like our options now, we bought really well.

Seriously what do you mean he had a very good game? It was the same as last week. Won a few aerial battles but his general game was poor. Besides the one header he never looked like scoring. He is so technically poor it's not funny anymore.

Disagree, I thought his first touch and movement were poor completely oppossite to Suarez. Carroll was in Vermallen's back pocket all day both in the air and on the ground.

TBF, Vermaelen had an outstanding game, if it weren't for him I think we could have had it more comfortable.

I think Kenny's team selection was good, Suarez isn't fit enough to play a full game. Thing is, someone was moaning about the fact that we had too big a squad the other day, which is complete bollocks IMO. We now have options and competition for places, that is good.

What a ****ing joke that match thread is by the way. Away at the Emirates and RVP, Walcott and Arshavin hardly got a touch all game, yet all some people did was moan how crap we were.

Lucas makes 4 or 5 excellent tackles, not a mention. First one he misses, some people are all over it, plus subsequent mistakes. Did he get a mention for his role in the second? Of course not.

FFS he's not Suarez and shouldn't be compared to him. Totally different type of player.

I thought he lead the line and linked play pretty well personally.

I still have faith in him even though loads on here don't seem to rate him.

Yep, as lively as he was I still think he looked a bit leggy, it worked out brilliantly and full credit to the manager.
