Actually, even though we were mentioning it during the match, looking more closely at the highlights, that ref had a complete and utter mare out there today....no excuses for him.
No Muamba yellow card for hauling down Suarez at the halfway line when play was waved on, no Adam yellow card for diving, no Suarez yellow card for diving (considering he waved away the peno award), missing said peno decision (I know people are going to say the ankle grab was hard to catch, but the ref actually had a very clear view of it), the Agger hand-ball (which I would give), the passback, the various goal-kick/corner/throw ****ups etc.
Sorry, you need to look at it from both teams point of view, rather than what he did or didn't give us solely......he was very, very poor.
Even excusing the peno decisions which do happen every now and then, he's not even following the basic laws in the game."I will make the boys feel your support"

I don't bother listening to players post match comments as it's always the same canned bollocks ~
"Credit to the lads... it's a team effort... respect to the opposition..."
How about some Barry Fry candidacy?
"I was nervous out there because Torres cost the same as me and look what he achieved! Luckily I scored a peach off my left foot and the confidence to push on started coming."Was muß, das muß.

After years and years of basically trying to win games with the limiting approach of not losing them first, today's game just showed how the whole fundamental philosophy of the club has been altered by Dalglish. We've been over analytical and too respectful of average opponents at Anfield in the past IMO, and many sides who were no better than well organised, have come there and wheedled a point out of us when we should have been collecting three every time.
Kenny knows that when you have quality in your side, you don't need to worry about the opposition quite so much and set your team up to 'nullify' them. Let them sit down and worry about us and then take the game to them and usually the reward arrives.
We'll have some bad results this year too I'm sure, we're still a work in progress, but the switch to a positive football philosophy reminds me of the good old days. I ****ing love it.

From the BBC match report:
God, am I excited about this season. What a difference a year makes. In the corresponding fixture last season Liverpool were in the midst of a crisis. Roy Hodgson was in charge and the public voted with their feet as just 35,400 turned up - their lowest Premier League attendance for almost seven years and almost 10,000 below capacity.
Fernando Torres scored the winner in that game - his last goal for Liverpool at Anfield. Soon after, Hodgson and Torres left the club but Liverpool are now experiencing a mini-revolution under King Kenny.
Torres may have left, but in Luis Suarez the Kop have a new hero and with new signings Henderson, Stewart Downing and Adam all influential against Bolton, there is every reason to believe they have the nucleus of a side that is capable of firing them into the Champions League and beyond.
All three were superb against Bolton, as was Suarez, and victory was thoroughly deserved and superbly achieved with steel in defence, craft in midfield and menace in attack.
