You get no prizes for stating the obvious OK I'm jealous as it took me 15 lines to make the same point you made in a few words

Not convinced about the contention in bold. The second is almost certain these days.

I associate Torres with a winning team, fighting on several fronts and scoring goals galore. He made me feel like a youff falling in love with the game all over again and I guess, the way Torres left made me question that love as well as making it difficult to accept the 'next guy'. So when I think of Torres, I think of a variety of goals - none similar - during a spell that made me think we could win the league, so by default, he's always thought of during pleasant times.

Then Suarez arrived. I don't think he's immediately likeable and you can't help looking back at his historic incidents as brain ninjas - little snippets that are forgotten about, until something happens and it all comes flooding back. But then you start to experience his clear passion for the game, his desire to win and his tremendous ability with a football. I mean, the lad could turn on the proverbial sixpence. He creates his own opportunities and has carried our side for the first half of the season.

Yes, he's a nutter. But he's *our* nutter and I think I've talked myself into making my mind up.

        Suarez.
well kind of, i'm still undecided.
        We come not to play.

He delivers way more frequently. Silva might be capable of very occasionally scaling greater heights, but it is very occasional. Mata effects games much more readily and consistently.

I couldn't think of a more exciting orthodox forward pairing. Shame it never happened.

I voted for Torres at the time, even though he has improved somewhat I wouldn't have him for Suarez, no chance not now.

Suarez is getting better and better.

Thing is Silva was in the form of his life when Mata had just moved to Chelsea so you can forgive people for thinking you were getting carried away. If Silva was still playing the same way it'd be hard to argue Mata was better but this season Mata has out performed Silva in basically every way.

This suggests they are pretty similar - although this season may have swung things Mata's way by now (not checked):

Well Mata has 7 goals and 7 assists in 18 PL games. Silva has 1 goal and 5 assists.

                          I can't decide.

One on hand Suarez can play at a world class standard in 3 positions and make things happen. He can score goals, and make assists. Rip the piss out of people time and time again and his heart is always in it.

Torres on the other hand would finish near enough everything put in front of him. He was a class act too and scored so many good goals. Also the important goals. And in all honesty although Suarez's goal rate has been much much better this season, Torres whilst with us, I was confident he would bang in a 1v1 every time. Suarez I feel could miss or do something silly like blaze it over, wide or at the post.

If I HAD to choose, i'd go with Suarez.

I think Torres was just so efficient, whereas Suarez plays with such flair, such childlike abandon, that he tries to score the best goals all the time. I mean, who on earth, after having missed an absolute sitter about 10 seconds previously (Norwich away this season), would attempt to score the next chance with the outside of the foot?! He's crazy, but I love him for it.

And almost every time he nutmegs someone - roughly every 90 seconds - I laugh out loud.

I can't remember who I voted for at the time,How do we check?

I'd like to think I voted for Suarez as he is a much more complete player but Torres in his prime was such as deadly finisher as you would find in any era of football.
