In 90 mins of getting dicked on then yes, 3 'sitters' is a decent defensive return.

I dont consider allowing 3 piss easy chances which, on any other day, would result in conceding 3 goals, to be an example of particularly good defending.
But you're in a zone whereby you have to **** on anything that we did at Stoke, so fair enough. You took that result worse than i did, and i was initially irrationally furious.

It's not about you saying they defended well. I've noticed since Saturday's game finished, how you've been on a total downer with us, viewed everything in a negative light and basically slagged us off. You've not had a remotely good word to say about our performance. It hasnt exactly been subtle.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostSo praising Stoke for defending well is ****ting on what we did is it? Not the exact opposite? Oh no.

I don't think I've been particularly critical of our performance. I recall saying Kuyt was rubbish and Carra ****ed up, but I also said Agger was great. What I haven't joined in with is the cathartic but largely misplaced ref and/or stoke bashing which I'm sure has stood out here.
It's true that i've been more annoyed about actually losing the game rather than enthused about it showing the potential to win more games in the future. It was a damaging result, I think that's pretty normal.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Any loss is damaging, but the way it happen equates to it being a freak result.
If we start being outplayed by basically everyone, as was happening under the fraudster, then i will seriously worry. But dominating a team and failing to acquire what would've been a comfortably deserved win, whilst annoying, isnt something to get too depressed about. That level of performance, on a consistent basis, will see us right. Playing like that and losing, is a bit of a freak occurance and will be a rarity.

It was a game of second wind after an internaional week on a wheat field of a pitch after a heavy rain against a team that had sat on their thumbs for 7 days.
It was just bad fixture timing for us to play them.
On a related note, ManU have 6 home games after their CL matches, where as ManC have 6 aways.
Conspiracy??

The fixtures work such that weekends when Man Utd are at home Man City are away and vice versa. So if the fixtures somehowOriginally posted by PC Plod View PostKnew Scum had 6 homies, didn't realise Citeh had 6 away. Pretty shocking.
put Man Utd at home on those weekend Man City would have to be away.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hold on though, you said "I thought we deserved a draw, no more no less, there were too many players that were below par" - so we didnt deserve to win, because too many players were below par. Yet, Stoke were utterly ****, with even MORE players below par - and you think they deserved to win?Originally posted by sssiho View PostYes, they got the ball in the back of the net, we did'nt. Okay it was a dodgy decision and I agree they were ****e but they still scored and we did not, so they deserve the points, whether we like it or not.
I dont see much consistency in that argument, personally.
