Many thanks for the clarification.Originally posted by dom9 View PostI was precisely interpolating between pablo's two points of reference on his scale. I should have made that clearer.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I doubt that very much. In the majority of games v them at our place over the last decade or so, we've torn into them from the first whistle. Did exactly that under Kenny last season and destroyed them. If it was away I'd have zero confidence but at our place I fancy us to give them another hiding.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostWe'll end up sitting back (when I say end up I really mean we'll start out that way) and concede loads of space, instead of taking the game to them. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

We didnt last time v them and we hardly do in any home games so not sure why or how you've come to that conclusion.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostWe'll end up sitting back (when I say end up I really mean we'll start out that way) and concede loads of space, instead of taking the game to them.

Didnt at home to Sunderland, didnt at home to Bolton, didnt at home to Man Utd last season, didnt at home to Man City last season, didnt at home to Birmingham last season etc etc. Not seeing much evidence of this starting out really deep. Away games are obviously harder to control but theres no way on earth we start games at Anfield playing on the counter attack.Originally posted by BootRoom View PostWe do it in most games - we even did it at times against the bitters when they were down to 10 men.

We'll get after them, but it will mostly be in our own half - there is no way we'll push the defensive line up to compress the play. When their defence has got the ball they will invariably be less pressure than when our defense has got the ball - it's a common theme in a lot of the games we play.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI doubt that very much. As soon as we are put under pressure, the back line moves further and further back. And it happens more and more in the second half now. I really don't see how this can to go un-noticed. It might not be a tactic from the kick-off against the lesser teams, but it happens all too often against teams that should be put under more pressure.Originally posted by Chris View PostDidnt at home to Sunderland, didnt at home to Bolton, didnt at home to Man Utd last season, didnt at home to Man City last season, didnt at home to Birmingham last season etc etc. Not seeing much evidence of this starting out really deep. Is there a team in world football who doesnt drop a bit deeper at some point in a game? Norwich had Man Utd penned in at Old Trafford on the weekend. I'm not disagreeing that we sometimes drop deep, everyone does but you seemed to be saying we will and are sent out with tactics to just sit on the edge of our own penalty from kick off but I completely disagree with that and see no evidence of it at all.
Also not sure why you think Kenny will change his tactics from what saw us batter Man Utd last season.
