WE conceded a goal once Lucas went off.Originally posted by JohnDoe View PostWe played well once Lucas went off.
Unlucky not to win the game, but we aren't going to win the league, so to see progress in our game is encouraging. We were the better team.
Onwards.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Being a passenger means he contributed nothing so is equivalent to playing with ten men. We were in control for much of the game. I don't think we're so full of world beaters elsewhere that we could have achieved that without Downing making some sort of contribution.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostA match were we also created little till late on. It is not OTT, Downing was very poor for most of the game and seriously needs to do a hell of a lot more.
We created chances when Minnows United threw caution to the wind and put some attackers on to the pitch. Until then we lacked guile to break them down but I don't think Downing is solely responsible for that..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Just watched MOD as I was in work yesterday. Poor finishing cost us.
Fergiscum saying "the boy Suarez dives all over the place", ffs, I'm getting pissed off with this ****e all the time. Nobody has the right to complain about diving, EVERY team has players that dive, Manu more than most. ****.

I'm sure Kenny will have something to say when asked about those comments, just to let Fergie know how much of a hypocritical prick he's being.Originally posted by Suarez View PostJust watched MOD as I was in work yesterday. Poor finishing cost us.

I don't even recall any incidents where Suarez went down easily, I recall Adam making the most of the touch from Ferdinand, and Downing diving once, but I can't recall any incidents with Suarez.
Man Utd have Nani and previously had Ronaldo these two are probably the worst! The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought the same, does anyone think the scum are trying to tarnish our best players reputations with these types of accusations, so that referees are less likely to give us decisions when they go down?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAnd Berbatov who took a blatant dive to WIN A PENALTY against us last season.
Ferguson is such a cunt, he bleated about the same **** with Torres last year. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We can.
I am "not" solely blaming Downing, I just think he seriously needs to up his game at the moment. He had the same issue in the derby, as did Adam, but Adam really did up his game yesterday and was very good.Last edited by Mattshark; 16-10-11, 06:16 PM.

Manchester United censor Phil Jones comments on Charlie Adam 'dive'
Manchester United censored Phil Jones' comments on Charlie Adam's involvement in Liverpool's goal against them, deeming them 'too inflammatory' to be shown on MUTV
Daniel Taylor on 16 October 2011
Charlie Adam's involvement in Liverpool's goal during Saturday's 1-1 draw prompted so much anger among Sir Alex Ferguson's players that Manchester United had to censor a television interview with Phil Jones.
Jones accused the Scottish midfielder of deliberately diving to win the free-kick from which Steven Gerrard scored. The former Blackburn Rovers player did not hold back in his criticisms and MUTV, United's in-house television channel, took instructions from senior Old Trafford officials before deciding Jones's comments were too inflammatory to be shown.
Although Rio Ferdinand admitted he had made "the slightest contact" on Adam, United were incensed about the way the player went to ground, believing it to be a deliberate attempt to dupe the referee, Andre Marriner.
Ferguson, who later accused Luis Suárez of "diving all over the place", described it as "a very soft award", but Jones went even further with his own criticisms, telling MUTV that Adams had been guilty of a blatant dive.
However, MUTV, who infamously once pulled a show involving Roy Keane because he had been so outspoken against his own team-mates, had edited out the relevant section when Jones's interview was shown on Saturday night.
Adam, informed of United's complaints, denied he had made the most of the challenge. "Well, everyone has an opinion," the former Blackpool player said. "I felt a touch and if I hadn't gone down I would have been clear through on goal so there must have been contact. That's the way I look at it. I felt contact when I went past Rio and that's the way it goes."
He added: "I'm not that type of player. I'm not just going to go down easily. It was a foul and that is why the referee gave it."
Ferdinand had already been booked and was fortunate once the free-kick was awarded that Marriner did not show a second yellow card. The defender said: "There was the slightest contact but I don't think enough to make a fella who is 12, 13 stone fall on the floor like that, but that's the way the game is today."Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think Downing's involvement defensively was quite good, he might have not had a lot of input attacking wise for the first 70 or so but he always made it back to help Enrique and often ended up defending deaper than Enrique.
We obviously want him to be more involved more regularly during the game, but to say he was very poor is probably a little over the top?96 Never Forgotten
