Agree on pretty much everything in here. I was suprised bellamy didnt come on for Downing/Kuyt. I was nearly sure he would straight after the sub.

We were unlucky not to get away with all 3 and it feels like a loss.

Jammy United as usual, they have one opening on goal and take it and nick a point because of it. Although, there's a lesson in there for us wrt our own finishing...Suarez has many, many gifts but an ability to finish one-on-one chances would seem to be his weak point. I'd echo a lot of other stuff already said...Downing continues to contribute little or nothing, the late crosses aside, he was pretty poor. Lucas had a shocker on the ball I thought, and I was disappointed not to see Bellamy come on for Downing.

In the overall context though, it shows we're progressing well enough but let's make sure there's no ****ty performances against weaker teams in the games coming up.

In the context of the rivalry, it's just another game to add to the long list where United got way more than they deserved, just because they're United, it would seem.

I don't think luck comes into it much. Its disappointing because we made it a draw by not taking chances and being caught at the corner.

For one of Henderson's chances to go in would have been great for him, but I'm impressed where he pops up. Not the finished article by a long way, but looks like very good potential. We need goals from midfield and he looks like he'll do this over the next good few years. Downing put in two cracking balls and I think Andy would have finished both.

The draw should mean a reaction and extra effort over the next couple of games. You don't always get what you deserve out of a game and sometimes you get more than you do, lets hope it balances out done the road.

Downing twice put the ball on a plate 6 yards out, its not his fault Kuyt and Henderson couldn't finish.
If 'all' Downing does every week is provide 2 nailed on chances 6 yards out then he can carry on being '****' and 'contributing nothing' for the rest of the season as far as im concerned.
Downing is at his best when he crosses early (like the cross for Kuyt) its difficult to do that when we have 1 sometimes no players in the box

That was a superb ball for Kuyt but I still think Downing can do more. I know wingers tend to flit in and out of games but I think there's much more to come from Downing, a back-handed compliment, really.

I don't think that Downing did much for the first 75-80mins, but he created a few chances in the last 10-15mins, we need to see more of that from him.

Downing is best suited to the old fashioned left wing. I hate to see him over on the right but that is part of the game now, have to switch around a bit. Downing has done something very positive on aggregate in all the games he's played. Hasn't got the goals and assists yet, but they'll come, there is definitely more in him.

Downing took a shot towards the end of the game and the speed on it was phenomenal. I thought Gerrard's shooting was powerful but this was dynamite! I would have loved to have known what how fast it was going. It's a matter of if, not when, and he will be breaking nets (not literally, but you know what I mean).

The scum and their fans are full of ****e it's really pissing me off, going on about Suarez and Adam diving. Ferguson accused Suarez of diving, when was this supposed to have happened. Ferdinand having a go at Adam when he admitted there was contact.

I think we need to step up the #stayonyourfeet campaign though...footballs becoming a non contact sport, the wind blows + people fall over!!

How can they come out with this stuff with some of the players they have (eg Nani) and have had recently (Ronaldo)

Also if Suarez has made racist comments to Evra why didn't they mention this in their interviews? Surely this is more serious than their comments about supposed diving.

A match were we also created little till late on. It is not OTT, Downing was very poor for most of the game and seriously needs to do a hell of a lot more.
