Another thing I want to mention is that all the cunts are coming out and giving their opinions. The whole world is full of opinions. Every cunt has an opinion and makes sure that it is heard. This, by a country mile, is the best article that has been written, this is the best opinion that has been given, and it's one that is holistic and looks at the whole situation in a different light. Magnanimous. I'm astounded that you take so much time to research all these twitters/articles etc. You always bring out some absolute gems, even if - proclaimed as I have - I could never give a flying **** in doing so. Yet I am always grateful when quality wording and argumentation in a structured format appear publicly.

        Great article
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's exactly why I don't really 'do' the news. It would (and does, in the rare cases) just make me angry and upset, not with the subject matter, but with the motives of media (and their major motivations, which is a) money/exposure and b) influencing the 'feeble' mind) and most of all with humanity, which laps it all up. It is extremely telling that what you hear in the news is never NEW. Every day, it is the same ****ing ****. As if the whole planet and all of life on it were doomed for eternity. As if everything that ever happened was negative and ****e and we might as well all just cry out and commit mass genocide. Before I go on, I'll better stop right here. I do not want to be giving anyone the feeling that they are feeble or whatever. But in the light of all things, there are surely more interesting and inspiring pastimes than Talksport.

might have something to do with this

Paul McGrath has described Liverpool’s decision to wear T-shirts in support of Luis Suarez as “shameful”.
The entire Liverpool team donned shirts which featured a picture of the Uruguayan on the front and his number seven on the back as they warmed up for Wednesday night's game at Wigan.
The public show of solidarity came after Suarez was handed an eight-match ban and fined £40,000 by the Football Association for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.

It puts the anti-racism campaign back to the beginning as far as I'm concerned

                  Paul McGrath
Speaking to Drive Time, McGrath slammed Liverpool’s stance on the issue, and said he would have thrown the shirt to the floor if he was Suarez’s team-mate Glen Johnson.
"Maybe Kenny [Dalglish] is trying to make a statement to the FA but I just think it is in bad taste that he sent them out in those T-shirts. It would have been much better for Liverpool Football Club if they had have worn anti-racism shirts," said the former Manchester United star.
"It’s about respect. There’s this issue going on about respecting your opponents. It is actually a game. The game itself has gone too big, it’s about winning and the money. The actual element of football being a game has long since gone, it is all about protecting your interest, protecting your best players.
"There are a lot of children that watch these games and to have done what they did last night, doing their warm-up in T-shirts with his smiling face on it, having just been done for a supposedly racist comment to one of his opponents, is shameful for football. It puts the anti-racism campaign back to the beginning as far as I'm concerned.
"If I was in Glen Johnson’s situation, I'd have thrown the shirt to the floor," he added. "If that had been someone in my time and I'd heard the comments or I'd even suspect he was guilty, and obviously there has been a tribunal, then I would not wear a T-shirt with his name on it, saying all is well and good here.

                            Ron's no racist - McGrath

                            Apr 25 2004

                            By Fionnuala Burke, Sunday Mercury

Aston Villa legend Paul McGrath has revealed that Ron Atkinson called black players “coons” during training sessions.

The retired soccer star claimed Big Ron used the racist term while manager of the Premier-ship club in the 1990s.

Yet McGrath insisted that his former boss, who resigned from his ITV job last week for branding Chelsea player Marcel Desailly a “f***ing lazy big n****r” live on air, was an INSPIRATION to black players.

When we put the claims to Atkinson yesterday, he did not deny using the derogatory term ‘coon’, but said: “You should have heard what the players called me!”

Big Ron, from Barnt Green in Worcester-shire, resigned from his £200,000 job as a sports pundit after his outburst on Tuesday night following Chelsea’s Champions League defeat against Monaco.

He thought his comments about Desailly to fellow commentator Clive Tyldesley were offair - but they were being broadcast to audiences in the Middle East.

Some fans who heard the rant claim that he also called Blues boss Claudio Ranieri a “wop” and midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron “a lazy f***”.

After a storm erupted Atkinson, 65, apologised immediately and quit his TV post. He has since left his job as an expert analyst for The Guardian.

He has also been shown the red card by West Bromwich Building Society, who had planned touse himtopromotea newmortgageplanthis week.

Atkinson gave McGrath his big break in football when he signed him for Manchester United in 1982.

He was also the player’s manager at Aston Villa, where the defender arrived in 1989 after having been shown the Old Trafford door by Alex Ferguson for heavy drinking.

McGrath, 44, who now lives in Ireland, said he was shocked at the Atkinson outburst against Desailly.

“I heard what Ron said about Desailly and I thought it was a daft thing to say,” he said. “It was out of order. I was shocked because I had not heard Ron use that word before.”

But then he added: “I heard him call some black players a coon during training. It didn’t happen very often, it was occasional. But I’m not going to defend him to the hilt.

“I think Ron is probably one of the old school where language like this was probably more accepted.”

Although McGrath condemned Big Ron for using insultinglanguage, hesaid thathedidnot believe he was a racist.

“You only have to look at his record over the years,” he explained. “He was one of the few managers who helped black players in their careers and he treated everyone well.

“He was a great inspiration for me personally. He brought me to Manchester United and looked after me. He was at Villa as well. He treated me brilliantly.

“He would have been the first person to have befriended black people.”

But McGrath added that he was subjected to other racism during his career.

“Over the years I did experience racism,” he said. “There was a lot more of it about then.

“Ron is one of the most decent managers that I had, but I can’t condone what he said.” McGrath is no stranger to controversy himself. His drinking exploits have seen him hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Friends have spoken about their fears that booze binges could kill the soccer legend and have urged him to give up the bottle.

McGrath was in rehab for six weeks last November following an incident outside his ex-wife’s house in Manchester.

But he told the Sunday Mercury that he is now happy working as director of football for Irish team Waterford United.

“It’s great,” he said. “It’s wonderful working with the team and it’s been going fairly well.”

McGrath can **** off with his comments about this setting the 'kick it out' campaign back to the start. As far as I'm concerned it's the FA and their handling of this case if anyone that has set the 'kick it out' campaign back.

No-one wants racism in football, and if the authorities are to tackle racism in the game they need to do it correctly rather than in the half-arsed way this has been handled. If Suarez was guilty and this had been handled correctly there would have been none of this. I can see why to outsiders (who haven't bothered to scratch beneath the surface) why the club and the fans reaction looks bad. But as soon as you see any of the details it becomes apparent why we are taking this stance. All these ex-players, pundits and hacks coming out with all this **** should look at the details of the case.

McGrath's comments contain a hint of racism, he's singled Johnson out for one reason only and that's the colour of his skin. Also looking at the bit in bold has McGrath actually considered that Johnson (and the others for that matter) don't even suspect that Suarez is guilty? If they had suspected that Suarez was guilty they wouldn't have backed him.
