    "Independent" commission.
The first one - the FA lawyer link is a bit hollow, cant make too much of that.

The Smith one - why isnt this info in the mainstream media's conscience?

Was it Goulding who represented Rooney, or his firm?

        It was Goulding.

Is it though, a lawyer that will have in the very recent past have had contact with utd and fa exectutives, in order to work for a successful outcome in their favour in a dispute they were in.

Hardly what i'd call totally independant, could they not find anyone else at all, that has had no contact with either club or the fa ? Imo, the panel should have been brought in from out side football, and rule only on evidence provided.

I see your point but a non-Liverpool fan might well say "Well he has no connection or affiliation with MUFC, so that's fine".

Any accusations of the panel not being independent or impartial need to be rock solid and beyond dispute.

No but he has clear associations/affiliations with the FA. The charge against Suarez was brought by the FA - the commission was supposed to be 'independent', yet it was made up of one actual FA person, a QC who had very recently successfully represented them, and Ferguson's ****ing mate.

LoL, course they could. Quietly'd defeat the purpose though now, wouldn't it?

It just shows to me that the fa haven't been as thorough or neutral as they should have, or worse, they knew they'd get a favourable point of view from those they choose, and as Ousely said, they set out at the start of this with the intention of getting this verdict.

Playing devil's advocate here, but one could argue that he was hired by the FA for a separate case, and that he simply did a job that he was paid for - thus, it was purely professional and there's no FA 'affiliations' any more than a window cleaner who is hired to clean the windows at Soho Square.

I'm being deliberately extreme here, but that could easily be argued.

Except, maybe they'd both like to get paid again in future by the Fa, after all, i hear they do pay very well.
