I've been very impressed with the way Barnes has responded to all this - he's given quite a few excellent interviews now. How the **** was he so **** on channel 5??

I think he's just **** at actually presenting a programme. But he speaks well on football and has been particularly impressive in regards this issue. We need to get him on board somehow.Originally posted by kris90210 View PostI've been very impressed with the way Barnes has responded to all this - he's given quite a few excellent interviews now. They're also on form still. Its also not in the same class as racism.
Unfortunately when it comes to racism it goes more then just football. I wish it didnt but thats how it goes. Racism is the ultimate destructive force in anything.

I've seen it escalate and many times, it's always been the accused who have suffered, regardless of evidence. It astonishes me that people can even think of football amongst this charade.
I accused someone of racism once and my goodness did it almost destroy him. It was only through a chat with another friend of mine which got me to see the context of the conversation when I withdrew the accusation, shook hands, had a conversation and to this very day, we're close friends. I've seen others accused of it when there hasn't been anything in it and let me tell you all that it cuts inside that person.
This is beyond football. Unless you've been in that situation, you will not understand.

Exactly, and perhaps it's a problem with the owners being to far away, or what I suspect even more - that the the staff and the team acted without clearing with the owners/board. It's been very unprofessional all of this and the issue could have been put to sleep long ago.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post
The most frustrating thing for me has been the way that the club has handled this, we have made some poor decisions and been inconsistent with the way we have done things. There seems to have been little or no communication between parties on some issues, and we have been unprofessional at times. This is disappointing as I had hoped we would have out all this behind us when the new owners came in.

The sad part here is Evra, the team, and all the fans of UTD, including fans of many other teams who all hate Liverpool for whatever reasons they have, dont want this fixed or sorted or the two players to make up. They want to destroy everyone associated with it for their own entertainment, whether its the fault of the player or not. Football brings out the ugly side of people all too often. Fans kill each other in literally. So put in racism and its just pretty much over. Lives destroyed, no one cares etc. Its a sad state.Originally posted by Phoenix06 View Post

I've had about 3 friends hassle me all day, UTD and tottenham fans, all getting frustrated since I'm not a hardcore crazy like you'd find on rawk, they have trouble riling me up at all. They are loving everything thats happening and hope it gets worse for the club and players and manager of it, simply because they're opposing fans, not seeing anyone as people. Now they're trying to rile me up about some dodgy story that our players spat on De Gae and that caused the tunnetl bust up at half time, yet if theres any bad news about their players in the news they say its all bull**** because theres no proof it happened, keep clinging on to rawk etcetc blahblah. I mentioned if Evra was our player they would hate his guts, ignoring the racism part. They agreed on that but said since he isnt a liverpool player then he's awesome. Thats the sort of fans football seems to have. Another reason I'm pondering why I've made this my favourite sport to follow. Sport is meantto bring you joy. It brings me limited joy as the years go by. Thinking of just sticking to video games and books.Last edited by vlahka; 13-02-12, 11:58 AM.

I've just been listening to the sports news at 11am on RTE radio. Was waiting for a discussion between Des Cahill ( West Ham fan) and Pat Kenny ( Manc) on the Suarez/Evra issue.
Well. Mick McCarthy has been sacked. Tevez is coming back to City. Abramovich has told his manager and players just exactly what he thinks of them. The French are cunts for calling the rugby match off two minutes before kickoff. Kenya are currentlt 34 for 7 in reply to Ireland 135 all out.
Not one mention of Kenny, Ferguson, Suarez or Evra. Woohoo!"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

You can't remember Jemson? A shire horse of a centre forward who played under Clough at Forest in the same team as Keane, Sheringham etc, then went to Wednesday and was understudy to Hirst and Bright.Originally posted by Fivex View PostWho?Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
