If we want an out an out defensive midfielder because I think Adam, Gerrard and Lucas have all something to give further up the pitch, then Diarra, who wanted to leave Madrid, should be looked at very seriously. Great player.

IMO we need a poacher. A guaranteed 20 goal a season, fox in the box type. Too often Suarez,Kuyt & Carroll when playing up top will drift deep or out wide leaving us with nothing in the box. Also Adam doesn't get up top and support the front men enough from the centre of the park. Maybe the Lucas/Gerrard pairing would offer us more in the respect that Lucas sits and holds & we also get the benefit of Stevie pushing up the bit more towards goal.

We are creating lots of chances, just not taking them Guisseppi Rossi for me would be a perfect fit.

He gets 10 mins cameos cos he's not up to scratch. I haven't seen anything to have confidence in him. Seems a good lad, wants to do well but sadly he doesn't offer much. Then when he plays oue tactics seem to be to lump it up to him. Was clearly evident again when he came on last night.

I wasn't talking about his miss. His heading is pretty much what we're trying to use out of him. Very strange signing imo.

This is exactly why people were saying that we needed to sign 'matchwinners'/'game changers' - we didnt. Now we're seeing the impact of it.

And when we only have 2 players who can make something happen, to play one of them as a DM (Gerrard) is insanity.

We need to sign someone like Lassana Diarra to partner Lucas with Gerrard just in front of them playing in a free role. Or give the Spearing the chance he deserves and put him back in the middle.

Why is it crazy to have 2 holding mids? We have had out best season with two holding mids. Part of our problem is that we lack control in the middle of the pitch and it is costing us, having another holding mid there would help this issue.
