i too had signed it very early on, so much so that i'd forgot i'd signed it and when i went to do it about two weeks ago i got a message to say i already had.

the frustrating thing tho, is it's taken till the very last minute before the club or people in the spotlight (ie media/celebs/players on twitter etc) before they started retweeting it.

Seriously - some people, fair play to them, have been tweeting this to those people for months and months - i've seen it...the past couple of months my twitter timeline has been filled with the tweets......so whats taken so long, for example the club itself, to put it on their website and tweet about it??
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

It does seem strange that it hasnt been highlighted earlier by more high profile names

There have been a few questions floated around such as, 'Haven't we already done this?" And they're thinking about the Hillsborough petition.

I've seen a lot of our fans asking why it's taken so long. Looking back at the dates, this petition was on a lot of LFC forums just after the Hillsborough debate in Parliament.

I think it's an honest misunderstanding by a lot of people.

Could do with the official facebook page posting it again and a few high profile Twitter retweets.

Anyone following the likes of Carra / Suarez or even Babel?

Gathering momentum at last. Bradley Wiggins,Ricky Hatton among others have RT'd tonight. Could be close.I'm getting the kids and the missus to sign and then hassle their mates to sign.

If people like Stephen Fry or Jonathan Ross supported this it would hit the 100,000 mark in no time. It's worth sending a request for a RT to anyone with a significant number of followers whoever they are.

Well worth it, Fry might have particular sympathy being as big a football fan as he is.

Its a handful shy of 70K with 26 hours to go. Signups overnight are going to be very slow so its needs some serious help tomorrow.

I've tried Stephen Fry tonight already. Amir Khan and a few others.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I just really hope it doesn't close in 68 minutes ie. 00.01 on the 19th. If it has till 23.59 on the 19th then it still has a chance.

                        Thats 1,100 in 15 minutes!

4,300 in the hour since my edit. A US based Facebook friend who has 4,000 friends around the world is going to post it to his friends list for attention of UK people. Might not be a Stephen Fry retween to a 6 figure audience but every sig counts now.

I think we've got until about 4 pm Thursday. We can do this now if we all get mates, wives etc to sign.

Wow, so we've done almost 30k in a day right?!

Let's hope we can smash 100k by lunchtime tomorrow. What happens if we don't meet the deadline? Will the petition continue or will that be the end of it?
